Maybe Cook will be the new FB coach, he's just setting up the new VB coach with some serious ammunition. ;)

Pretty impressive.

#1 libero
#1 setter
#1 hitter
#2 hitter
#3 blocker

Ahhhhhh love it
Its like he approached the US U19 team and asked them if they wanted to keep the band together. Sold out games, rabid fan base, NIL money, high level winning and development leading to more playing opportunities. What's not to like?

Cook said one of the players in this class he's been recruiting since she was 13. I know Nebraska was all over Lexi Rodriguez at a very early age as well. I wonder how many players, who are looked at so young, end up still panning out by the time they're HS seniors?

Anyway, Cook has a gift for identifying talent and improving them once they get on campus.

Very few. I imagine many are very good, but few are elite. Its such a huge commitment to travel all over for games all through their teen years

Funny, I thought you couldn't recruit that kind of national talent to the "wastelands" of Nebraska?

Such a revelation that a combination of a stellar coach and a winning team history with a very passionate fanbase would attract talent.

Not exactly the same. 5 players versus 30., but most of your points stand. Poor Husker football. We've lost that lovin feelin.

Kind of a different situation. High level college VB is kind of the pinnacle for these girls athletic careers. They're not trying to get scouted to the pros so go where you have the best chance at a NC.

The wastelands of Nebraska don't look that bad if you are from Nebraska, Iowa, South Dakota and rural Illinois. Or a girl from Texas who's more familiar with Nebraska farms than the majority of people on this board. Add in a few others and you've got a power house.

Not to mention that high school/club volleyball in Nebraska is some of the best in the entire country, so the state produces a lot of high-level in-state talent to recruit from. You can't say the same for football

Yep. He truly does only take the best. This current class doesn't have any Nebraska girls on it, but the last two did.

I think the example of Nebraska volleyball being at the top of its game for quite a while actually has a lot to do with the development of the in-state high school talent. That success at the top inspires the in-state high school programs. I think the University program success has inspired the in-state high school programs to flourish more than the opposite cause/effect. But it's mutually beneficial.
