I have watched Nebraska football for 50 years. Always my favorite team when they where not in the big. Gave me a chance to have a team t root for when Iowa was really bad .
What I don’t understand is you guys have talent up the ***. Skill players are scary good.

the one thing I noticed the last few years is the players on D talk a lot of stuff before the game and after plays , even if as a team they are not playing well. Is the D not together ? Is it to many individuals (I guy vs we guys ). I cannot figure it out. You look good but the D seems to make killer mistakes or fold tents late.

The league is better with Nebraska playing strong I think it will come but the D needs to find real enthusiasm and not manufactured. The kids that don’t play where trying to fire up teammates but it just seemed like the O believed they could win but not the D.

opposite at Iowa the D is always good and offensive game is , well it’s not very good.

Hope you make a bowl game. You just need a half way effective D to be good.

Your attention is respectfully directed to the two dozen or so recent threads on this forum discussing the quality of defense and the value of DC Eric Chinander.

Re: the smack talk. its widespread in college and pro football. Widespread but not universal - and that is a critical difference. It falls under the coaching umbrella. Coaches can police that conduct, or not. Its an emotional game so you have to give leeway but not a free pass.

I don’t agree with the talent up the *** part. You are thinking of Ohio State.

The talent that we do have is either hurt, underclassmen not ready to contribute, freshmen who will be redshirting, or have been kicked off the team (rightfully so).

I really can't get behind the smack talk and personal fouls we have. That is just a mark of "look at me! look at me!" when you are getting burned the other 90% of the plays. If you are going to talk smack, then you better follow Larry Bird's example and back it up. Otherwise you are just a joke.
