Couldn’t agree more. Two minutes into game many trashing everything. I am in STL so not able to interact wins fans in any other way except the game thread. It is unreadable if we fall behind early. The vitriol against our players is ridiculous. RULou and Richdentist starting threads killing Pike after a rivalry win are just stupid, but predictable. But ask the kids feel how they about the outcome and Pike.

Those two might be literally re******. I feel for their families, coworkers, and anyone in their general orbits.

And people make fun of the CE board. Game threads during a loss or game like today say hold my beer
And people defend their own and others' posts in the game threads as acceptable. Have a rule at work and in life-don't react or reply right away when you receive shocking or bad news. Take time to process reflect and consider the big picture and not the news of the moment. Took a while to develop this behavior, after saying many boneheaded things in my younger years.

You do?
My mind goes immediately to extreme happiness…. Then, what can we do better, how can we improve, why did the game play-out the way it did, why was it close etc?…..
Discussing it with other fanatics is fun for me
I agree with you, but some just want to spend time at a pity party, harping on how everything sucks. In emergency services, many organizations do critiques on what went well, and what could be done better. Sports is the same. Pike and the players realize they have more work to do to get better.

I brought a friend to the game and then we met up later for dinner. I told him about how our board wants to fire Pike after almost every game. He didn't believe me so I showed him this site and the 5 of the 7 top threads were " Pike sucks" . He just shook his head and said " you people are nuts".

I remember crowds in the stands at the old Rutgers stadium second guessing Dr. John Bateman and Fran Burns in ruthless and merciless ways. Rutgers fans eat their own. It's a tradition older than the Internet

It’s exhausting. Kind of like the folks who wanted to run Schiano out of town on his first stint because he wasn’t able to immediately replicate 2006 and completely forget what we were before and totally ignore what a feat it was to get our athletic programs to just being competitive. FFS, by year 3 of his guys, he was en route to assembling 4 tourney worthy teams from pieces almost no one wanted and has been consistently pulling in top 20-30 classes.

Exactly. We have stuff to work on, and that’s the stuff we should discuss. His teams are always getting better as the season goes on.

And every single player has said Pike is way more intense than the “aw shucks” nice guy we see at the podium after games or run into at events. He came here to win championships and I believe he will.

Reading posters accentuate the negatives after a win

Call them Deacon Blues...
There are people on this site who are pretend Rutgers fans. They actually are fans of other schools who have so little going on in their life that they come on here and bash Rutgers. Some of them post every single day.

Agreed 100% we only want one thing and that’s for Rutgers to win and how we can be better because there’s a lot of room for improvement in this team

I often remind myself that this board comprises a very small percentage of the entire Rutgers fan base. And the percentage is smaller still when you only count the unhinged. 8,500 fans “Pack the RAC” and I believe the overwhelming majority are pleased with the product…players, coaches, competitiveness, entertainment value.

I'm pretty disappointed in this season but I won't go overboard with negative posts when there is potential and possible games to win. There's plenty of time to complain at the end of the season.

Extremely few and not even relevant.
We all know who the real RU fans are, it’s not a mystery…99% of us eat, drink and sleep better after we win
