Hypothetical scheduling question

Would you rather play at Gonzaga or at Mohegan Sun vs Providence?

1. Gonzaga home and home/neutral and neutral
2. Providence neutral
3. Gonzaga away

I want to be able to go easily
The Gonzaga home/home or neutral/neutral is a no brainer in my opinion. I’m asking about the more difficult question. Do you go and play a top 5 team away or take a neutral vs a potential top 25 team.

Either would be great. The schedule is coming along nicely. I’m still hoping maybe they send us to South Bend for the ACC challenge based on the first four game becoming an instant classic. Four OOC games against contenders would be fantastic.

Schools with Gonzaga on their schedule get a ginormous advantage in NET SOS
I agree, and would schedule them if possible, but I do worry that we match up poorly with their uptempo style of play. If we can slow them down, it could be an exciting matchup, but almost no one has been able to do that, and I worry that they could run us out of the gym.

One way to look at it.

Whether it’s Gonzaga or Providence - to put ourselves in worse OOC resume position than last year - we’d probably have to lose all 4 real games AND also lay an egg against one of the cupcakes.

Any combination of 4 or less losses would mean either a) no bad losses or b) at least one quality win and only 1 bad loss (to a mid-major). We don’t know the ACC opponent but there’s nobody who would be as bad as UMass.
