Is Dan Dennis still the HC of the RTC? Haven't seen him matside in awhile and have mainly been seeing Brandon Sorensen instead.

Probably trending up, Buchanan has some nice upside, and keeping him in the room to work with upper weights is huge.

I thought that I read somewhere that he was headed back to Fort Dodge to begin his coaching career.
Just severely lacking. But wouldn't say mess. Pieces are missing but seems to be ran okay. A lot is probably funding but even if funding was insane is the correct structure in place to take advantage of it? I don't believe so...
If there are more than a few fans on an Iowa wrestling board that don't know who the HWC head coach is, I would think that might qualify the program as being a mess.
I don’t think it’s the HWC’s fault that people on message boards are morons. That’s a big world as it hardly limited to wrestling message boards.
Like seriously, DD is listed as the coach on the website and has been actively coaching. Should they put out a daily press release or something?
That site lists Sorensen as an athlete with the club when he has clearly taken on a coaching role
Everyone knows to take Iowa wrestling sites as the Word of God
You would think that the Iowa message board would be closer to the situation than the "big world" that is out there.
Maybe not daily, but at least updating the website on a yearly basis might be a good start. A cursory look indicates that it hasn't been updated since 2023. Sheesh.

Everyone on here knows who the head coach of the HWC is. If they don't, they don't follow Iowa wrestling very closely.
All it takes is for one person to hear a rumor and I would guess the rumor started because Sorensen was with the HWC guys at a ranking tournament.
Sorensen has been in a coaching role for quite a while.
And is pretty valuable to the team.
That seems like something that people might like to know. What a story...former Hawkeye 4x AA, cancer survivor, and now a coach at the HWC.
Seems like something that should be announced publicly and proudly...
Brandon is the kind of guy that doesn't want the attention.
He has a role with the HWC and totally embraces it.
He still gets on the mat and is still tough as nails.
I've promoted the idea of him hitting a competition or 2, but I don't think it's going to happen.
Oh. How then is it they have Spencer’s silver and wrestlers who weren’t in the program then listed? Along with showing results as recently as last month? Or events on the 2026 calendar?
You know, what they really should do is have an active social media presence, and consider constant email blasts. Perhaps if they did those things and if Dennis was shown, there wouldn’t be all this confusion from like 5 guys on a message board.

Hadn’t seen Buchanan at RAF, but Spencers and Desanto’s RAF matches in November and January had Sorensen cornering them w/ no DD, the Farrell in November had Sorensen w/ no DD, as well as both ranking series in February for Spencer Desanto and Buchanan.
But hey, the HWC site shows DD as HWC coach and Sorensen as an athlete, so we should have known DD was the head coach still. I mean duh

I've done the same, I reached out to flo multiple times about putting him on a card. He's a beast. I watched him get the better of Caliendo in live goes and you could tell he was outweighed.
Buchanan was on Lugos podcast and said the injury was torn cartilage in his rib. He also said he just got back on the mat and is on track to be ready for the US open.
HWC is the best club in the country going by recent results. Our guys are gonna kick *** at the US open, haters gonna hate. Its okay we hate you too.
