Did anybody catch Sam McKewon's tweet about Huskers graduating this spring? There were some surprising names on there. Damion Daniels, Matt Snyder, Jaron Woodyard, etc. I thought Snyder transferred and I thought Woodyard left at the semester. Did Snyder come back to NU to finish his degree? Kudos to all of the grads.

The OWH article said Darin Erstad and Dan Johnson were getting a degree.
Good for them. I remember when the 2000 Nebraska team (maybe NU's best ever, even though they didn't make the CWS) was getting ready to face Butler in the regional. Dan Johnson had played as a freshman at Butler before transferring to a JUCO and ending up at Nebraska. Butler's coach said something like, "I'm really happy for Dan. We loved him at Butler, but he hit the ball a lot harder than he hit the books."

Snyder remained in school but gave up football.
Woodyard will be a grad transfer heading to Marshall. He obviously had to graduate first.

As for Damion Daniels, congrats to that kid. He must be pretty damn sharp to finish his degree with two years of eligibility remaining.

Snyder impressed me as one of those guys who had the talent but didn't have the fire in his belly and love of football to make himself better. Probably a good decision for him to concentrate on school.

He did take a redshirt year, but yeah, graduating in 3 years while playing football is impressive. Wonder if he had some dual credit high school classes that helped him get a head start? That could knock out a semester worth of classes, then add in some summer school.
