I went on the website and can't find it. Maybe it hasn't been archived yet. I don't know.
Rome podcasts all of his shows and individual interviews. Rome has always been a Howland fan, so I'm sure the interview went well.
Good interview. Mentions next year's team making some noise "if we get a couple of recruits" that we are on.

definitely a great interview. I haven't been excited about basketball since ... well, the last 3 long years. Ben seems genuinely thrilled for his opportunity to build State into a powerhouse program.
I think he's going to do it, too.

When I was looking for the interview this morning I found a bunch of old broadcasts of Rome praising Howland at UCLA.
Appears that they've known each other a long time through their UC Santa Barbara connection.
Agree Peepers cant stand because of that interview. Lived on houston at the time and never listened to hom again. Jim should have punched the crap out of that useless shock jock.
There are so many jokes that can be made.
Being the gold standard in sports talk- the bar isn't set exactly high- a midget could jump over it.
Sports talk radio is almost as unbearable as political talk radio and 24hr weather. Combined.
The real joke is people who degrade something they know nothing about. Rush Limbaugh and Howard Stern laugh all the way to the bank with their $30 Million+/year contracts for talking and taking calls for 2 hours (excluding commercials).
No matter the medium or field, people know who the best are and the gold usually follows.
Just because people make a lot of money doing something doesn't make that thing they do not garbage.
I can personally enjoy sports talk in small doses. The worlds of political talk and shock radio are cesspools. I don't care who makes what amount of money doing it.

When he is asked the question regarding his last year at UCLA you can hear him break down a little. Still emotional over that. Will provide the drive for him to suceed
Thank you for sharing with us what talk radio is not. Let me try negating the premises too. Just because somebody doesn't like something doesn't mean that they are not levels of quality in the field. I don't like eating sushi, but that doesn't that there's no such thing as "good sushi" or that all sushi restaurants are garbage or cesspools.
Outside of pro bono legal work and fire fighters, few people serve the public for free. Revenue isn't necessarily connected to quality, but revenue is directly tied to customer demand and is a good indicator that people value the service.
