How Many Yards Will DR Throw For?

I think the mental leap of going from FR to SOPH, along with Holgerson being just a gigantic gigantic improvement as an OC, are going to do wonders for him. I hope that leads to some extra confidence and individuality to his game too, rather than putting any extra energy into mimicking a particular NFL qb.

In 2024 he threw for 2,819 yards, 13 Touchdowns, 11 INTs. I'm gonna say in 2025 he will throw for 3,400 yards, 23 TDs, 8 INTs.

A lot may depend on our defense and how good they are at getting stops. How good our ground game is will also influence his passing stats,

I could see 3,400. That's only about 40 yards more per game.

If he only throws for 3,300 yards with 20 TD's and 6 INT, that will mean we have a serviceable run game so that he doesn't have to throw 300 every game with the possibility of 1-2 picks each time out.

However many yards it eventually is, it unfortunately won't be enough. I would prefer fewer passing yards and many more rushing yards. #poundtherock

I will say 3,200 yards conservatively.

As an added bonus I’ll say he throws 22 TDs to 9 INTs
I underatand the theory, but I am going to stay conservative unlike last year when I said he'd throw for 20 TD's in his sleep.

I am going to say he throw

- Under 200 twice
- Over 300 4x's

I'm going to go with 2800 and 18/9 in the regular season

Probably the most realistic take assuming he and the team are only marginally better this year. Hopefully we will see a big jump with his play as well as OL and WR.

I don't care. I want "W's". I'd be happy with no passing yards.

But 3000 yards passing and 200 yards rushing/team per game would be AWESOME. Throw in some good special teams play and we've got a product as long as we can stay away from the injury bug

I know that you are being Randy Quaid in Major League 2, but you are absolutely NUTS if you think Raiola is going to throw less than 20.5 TD's. Only way that happens is if he gets injured. If what we saw was 16 TD's last year, and Raiola throws only 4 more Rhule will be looking for another job.

So I know you don't want to be a Kool Aid drinking sunshine pumper, but I also think you sound idiotic thinking Raiola is going to have similar numbers to last year
This was your response to me last year and I was pretty damn close but you had to act like a king dipshit and I didn't hear from you afterwards.

Dylan finishes the year as a holder for the kicking game and Gramstad wins the Heisman and later 6 Grey Cups in a row. Dylan is drafted by the Philadelphia Eagles in the 5th round as a TE and breaks the records of NFL rookie TE's previously held by his former teammate, Heinrich Haarberg as a Las Vegas Raider.

Not many cause Gramstad going to take the job in fall camp. But DR gets more than most backups cause we are going to use him a lot in the 2nd half in blowouts. Just going to be juggling act by Rhule, how much do you use Gramstad? Push him for heisman or keep him healthy?

Had to double check the poster here… after the first line I knew it had to be nikkisixx, which was the only reason I opened this thread, to see what wisdom he would drop here. Sadly, I was wrong, and he hasn’t weighed in yet.

I’m more interested in seeing where the TD/INT ratio ends up. He has to limit his turnovers. Turnovers cost us games last year.

I sincerely hope that he doesn't throw for over 300 per game, because if he does, that means we have no running game.

250 ypg passing and 24 TDs, 8 INTs. This plus 200 ypg rushing, 36 rushing/return TDs, 6 fumbles lost.

On the other side, less than 300 ypg given up with 24 turnovers caused, giving us a plus 10.

That's a 10-2 or 11-1 team going into the postseason.

While I think DH will mix the run in at the right times, I just don’t believe the offense will hang its hat on a strong run game. Could be wrong but with DR and the new WRs I think I can make an educated guess as to what the offense will look like.

Under if he is running the ball because he will get injured. The other thing I heard was that he will be pressured to make riskier throws. So basically we finally have a different kind of quarterback who won't lose us games and we are trying to get him injured and make him turnover prone just like every Nebraska QB before him. This is why we can't have nice things. How about we get a real offensive line and running back and WRs so we can block for him, have a running game, and find WRs who can get open and catch instead of putting it all on one player because we suck?

This isn't going to happen. Raiola won't be the featured rb. We've upgraded our line and brought in wr upgrades as well that can catch the ball. Tight ends as well all making offense more efficient so we won't have to make risky throws. With DH as OC, I'm hoping it's controlled chaos play calling for the defense. Only concern for me is rb

Ummm… what?

So our coaching staff is preparing to run Raiola like HH or something? And when he’s not running, throw like Tanner Lee? I’m not seeing it…

Yeah I think that guy misunderstood some comments or something. The coaches have talked about how he needs to be more mobile so he can escape pressure better and pick up some yards on the ground if they're there, but I don't think there's any indication that we're going to be adding many designed QB runs to the mix.

As for riskier throws, well, count me in. At a certain point last year he was going right to the checkdown option way too often. With more experience (and a way better OC/system) I think he'll be a lot more comfortable throwing the ball downfield, which I guess counts as a "riskier" option.
