What was funny about the whole thing is this. The players who are basically the most protected leave the field. No public address instructions as to what the fans are to do. So we sit and have our own DJ concert until it rains. Really what are we supposed to do or what is protocol for a tornado??

They have designated shelter areas for a tornado.

I’m guessing The Great Outdoors has something to do with his post..

I'm pretty sure you can tell who's over 30 and who's under by responses to that post.

Although, it could simply be a memory problem for the old folks that have seen it and just don't remember.

I think it should be common sense on what you should be doing if you're in the stands if there's lightning or a tornado around....

Have you ever been in the stands for a lightning delay? Most fans can't get to shelter.

At a football game? No. But I know if there’s a lightning delay, I’d be seeking shelter right away. It’s better to be packed like sardines under the stands at Memorial Stadium than being out in the elements with lightning strikes surrounding the stadium.

That’s just me.

The key word here is "can't". Most fans don't have the opportunity to get to shelter.

Then don't go to a stadium with 90k fans with a 99% chance of heavy thunderstorms. I know it sucks but people, myself included, didn't want to sit through a severe storm at worst or have a repeat of the rain bowl when we played OSU. and didn't go.

I sat in the stands and lmao for 2 hours I loved all the awesome groups of fans whom danced around and had a blast. I had a blast just watching and enjoyed the ROTC line dancing!! I'm 100% sure NO OTHER fanbase would have partied like us! We did Memorial Stadium right. We stuck around, "In all sorts of weather for dear old Nebraska U!"
