He hurt his ankle, but returned to the game. Indications are he is OK, but Coach Fitz is pretty tight-lipped out injured players.
He is vastly improved over the past several games as a passer, and has reintroduced downfield plays in our passing game. Physically, he has all the tools (size, arm footspeed). It has been a matter of the game slowing down for him. He has a real rapport with Austin Carr, a former walk on who now leads the B1G in receptions are yards. Carr is one of these guys who just finds ways to get open and make plays. Thorson also has found a good target in Flynn Nagel. Solomon Vault is our fastest receiver, but has not accumulated a lot of stats. That may change as the season progresses.
Thorson is not a real threat to run, except on a broken play where his straight line speed enables him to outrun most LBs. He looks pretty awkward on read option and speed option runs, but has gotten somewhat better at executing those calls. He has made some amazing throws on the run outside the pocket lately, which is a testament to his arm strength.
If his growth trajectory continues, he is going to terrorize B1G coordinators for the next few years, assuming we can muster an offensive line that can pass block at least passably. Otherwise, he may be decapitated.
