Gets on high horse about others seemingly diminishing people who served … then proceeds to diminish others who have served.

Tells others they should post picture of their fat-asses and says they are out of shape. OP says what he does to workout, that he manages his weight and has in fact posted pics of himself … immediately calls him a liar.

If this is any indication of how you navigate life, I’m throughly impressed at any success you have had and I mean that as a compliment.
He is a real life walking contradiction.

Regardless of his success, he represents the known fact a person can buy an education but they can't buy intelligence. Definitely over-educated for his intelligence.

I proclaim you’re nothing but a poser, and from someone who actually served, I would never diminish anyone else’s service to this country…regardless it’s level.

Don’t give two f*cks what workout regiment you have, (super cringe you posted that, & likely fabricated also). Your most definitely a low character individual, and an obvious political hack.

Just like most things in life, the folks that talk the loudest, have accomplished the least.

You are or you're most definitely a low character individual.

Lol…lotta fat *** served in the navy ( in fact, it’s likely the highest fat *** to non-fat *** ratio of any branch).

Love the narrative where if you “serve” in the forces, you’re automatically a bad-***. Minimum 60% of those that serve are non-essential, battle ready personnel (logistic, personnel, cooks, janitors, and someone).

You need to stop believing everything everyone tells you on a message board… 99% is complete fabrication, tailored to up the OP. Generally, those in the Armed Forces have their brothers backs, and don’t talk **** About their brothers. The fact this piece of extrament attempts to diminish others service, tells me everything I need to know.

But hey…you believe what you wish…
I can guarantee you that Marines talk more shite to each other than they do endearing words. We still have each other’s backs. Can’t speak for the other branches, but we’re the best of them all for a reason. That still doesn’t change the fact that fat nasties have no place in the armed forces.

My post was not about politics. It was about how unfit our National Guard is. It's not acceptable and unprofessional. You're still expected to at least not be obese. When they're called up, they're supposed to be able to do their job, not attempt to find their penis.
Very small sample size, but that’s how you propagandists roll.

Thread went off the rails as could have been predicted from the jump. I have no idea what role these dudes normally serve in the guard, but they look a little like me and I am not in the guard. For me, problem is less what they look like and more about the pointlessness of them being there in the first place.

Crime in American cities has been at historical lows before the guard was ordered into some of them. Reagan and Bush I were Presidents during the crack epidemic, and I do not remember a single soldier being ordered into a single American city. Also, soldiers, unless they are MPs, do not receive law enforcement training. So the most part this is a waste of these folks time (they have actual jobs that don't involve standing at intersections and in front buildings) and taxpayer money.
These aren't takes so much as they are facts.

The 1992 L.A. riots raged on for three days. President George H.W. Bush invoked the Insurrection Act to federalize nearly 6,000 California National Guard troops. He also sent in FBI SWAT teams, federal riot control police and 4,500 soldiers.
More than 60 people died in the 1992 riots and property damage exceeded $1 billion.

I'm assuming HW was responding to a request from the Gov of CA. What HW did not do was order the CA guard into LA under diffuse claims of increased crime. The troops were responding to riot conditions in the streets.

Maybe if the Antifa paid morons stopped rioting, attacking ICE and burning down cities like the summer of love the Guard wouldn't be needed. But Democrat run cities are all run by idiots so I wouldn't expect you to understand.

With respect to stats showing crime is down, a DC police commander is under investigation for cooking the books to show a decrease in crime. Is this a one-off or are crooked police officials elsewhere doing this too?

I counter with Umbrella Man.
FBI releases new images of 'Umbrella Man' who sparked damage during Minneapolis riots - Bring Me The News
A search warrant affidavit filed last year revealed that police believed they had identified the man as a white supremacist and a member of a biker gang.
The search warrant affidavit noted that until the "Umbrella Man" began damaging the Autozone – which was eventually set on fire and destroyed – the protests outside the 3rd Precinct had been "relatively peaceful."

It's just the wildest thing. I'm a combat vet, too. I have a buddy who was cleaning out Fallujah. Another in Airborn. Both can't enjoy being out in public. They are always mind-prepping for SHTF. Love them like brothers. My uncle did 3 tours in Nam. Infantry. Bronze Star. It's not for everyone.

I meet vets every day. When I see those hats, I feel I have to hear their story. So, I ask. One time, I stopped working for 15 minutes just to listen to a 91 year old who had been at Pearl Harbor. I feel blessed just to have met them.

Lighten up. That’s my whole point. Enjoy some
football
I think you may have meant to reply to me.

This is the Husker Board, but unless it's actually game day, only about 25% of the threads have anything to do with NU football. The majority of topics are sports related, NFL, MLB, OT topics, societal views and the like.

Come game day, the majority of members get pretty dialed in for some college football.

Exactly, they are basically adult boy scouts.

When I was a kid there were some NG dudes that would park their NG camo vehicle and hang out playing cards and just dicking around in the parking lot.
Um no. Many of them are former marines and army enlisted. All of them I know served in Iraq and Afghanistan. One friend of mine pulled the body of his younger brother out of a burning Humvee after an RPG burned a hole through his torso. I was a scout leader for 30 years. I had several go on to serve but even the guard is a whole different deal. The NG deserve our respect.

So why are you trying to diminish others service…Serious question. Never had another brother try to do such a thing. The fact you posted photos and talked up your “service” tells me more about you, and what your truly experienced…”or didn’t”.

Despicable in my view....honestly believe it has a political slant.

.
He wasn’t diminishing their service. He was questioning their conditioning. Fair game. Others diminished their readiness

Agreed.

Tim Wallz anyone?
And I am not even saying that they are not great people. I am guessing most NG dudes are just like everyone else, good people, friendly, welcoming, funny.

But You join the NG hoping you NEVER have to do much at all. It is not like you are joining in the hopes that you DO get to pull a burning body out of a humvee.

And do you really think that when they have to go "serve" for their weekend that they are ******* excited about it?

I mean, we have posters here that literally ***** and moan because they "have to go to a wedding when a Husker game is on" but we are to believe that people in the NG are excited to go to some lame base 30 minutes from home to sleep on a small bed with 50 other dudes.

And I don't fabricate anything. I've posted pics of my deployments (including pics of myself) on this board. I'm not a stolen valor guy. I'm just a normal guy who had a chance to see the world. I knew a guy who was trying to eat his way to a discharge and even he didn't look as fat as any of these guys. And I never mentioned politics. This is about being fit for duty. And no, firemen and policemen should have fitness requirements, as well.
It sounds like the military had a discipline problem also. That’s another big issue

Don’t get me started on that! I guess I was born at a time where our parents taught us a common criminal or junkie are not role models
