Coug High is killing Tulane. Remarkably, as improved as Housyon is, there is still only about 500 people in the arena...

Houston could end up in the top 3. They are that good.

I'm not doubting that, but for all the gas their fans talk about UH being Big XII quality in everything, their fan support certainly doesn't show it. I know this UH team has made big time improvements over last year (but Chicken is still there), but they still play in a largely empty arena.

Tulane looked worse than last year. A must win for TU next Sunday for any kind of season.

They didn't the week before when they took UConn down to the wire. They came from 19 down to lead by 1 late. They lost by 8. They looked good in this game and bad in the Houston game.

I don't think the P5 care much about bball for expansion and even less so for bball attendance. Plenty of other reasons Houston adds nothing for the Big XII but that's really not one IMO.

Our attendance looks dreadful on TV.

I'll report back on the experience itself. I'm not excited about traipsing around in that area at night so I doubt casual fans who don't have a reason to go see their own team play like I don't make that a priority.

OU's attendance sucks too until they are winning a lot and ranked.

Game 4 vs McNeese St: Attendance: 8364 Estimated Attendance: 5049
Game 6 vs Wisconsin: Attendance: 8988 Est. Attendance: 6543
Game 9 vs ORU: Attendance: 9421; Est. Attendance: 5475
Game 13 vs Iowa St: Attendance: 11251 Est. Attendance: 10,116

OU announced that their next home game vs. Kansas St. is sold out. TU gets the same 4400 every game and depending on the actual game, may get a few more. The SMU game, despite being at 4pm on a Tuesday, was pretty well attended.

I went to the Tulsa vs Houston game in Hofheinz arena last year. That place was a piece of crap. Can't believe the Rockets played in that dump. There might have been 500 fans and 200 students at the Tulsa game with maybe 100 in blue and gold. Houston SOS is around 340. I'm sure they have improved but played a really soft schedule. By contrast our SOS is second in the American this year.

Go TU!!!!!

What are you guys talking about, there were 3,235 people at that game. It was nearly half full for a weekday game against a crap team, they were all just in the luxury seats to avoid the cold/on the concourse/tailgating or otherwise somewhere else that doesn't' appear in a picture or on TV.

Or, there was ~1500 people there and they sold 3235 tickets. Which is what Tulsa reported during the Wojick times (sometimes I could count the fans in the end days).

Anyway, Houston is good. But they need a serious branding effort in their hometown (again, so does Tulsa) to try and become "THE" team in town.
