Is anyone else dumbfounded on why Cal has not developed Hopkins at the 4? I see a future Chuck Hayes type player (actually more polished offensively).

He could be a hell of a lot better than Brooks.
I love the kid, he's thick and can bang and has some offense. I can't figure out why he hasn't been developed either, must be because Brooks has been so great.............He's not been in the game lately because he's transferring after the season is over according to many.
I'm sorry, I just can't post about the 4 position without bashing Brooks, its what I do. Can't stand that boy.

Chuck Hayes was a long time ago. I want my 4 to be taller than 6’6”. Our 4 needs to be like Jabari Smith of Auburn. Toppin is progressing. He is our staring 4 next year if he stays around

His BB IQ has looked questionable because he has mostly been played at the 3 which is not what he is. I like his upside too but I am guessing it won't be here.
Turnover machine with the “bull in the China shop” mentality. Needs some maturity and experience

If Hopkins were to leave and that happens, there is definitely something wrong here. I hope he doesn't leave, I like his size and he can help. Just a few games ago Cal said Hopkins is forcing him to play him more, since then he has played maybe 5 minutes, why?

Hopkins might leave if Brooks and Toppin return, and I can’t figure out where they would be going?
We could really return every one minus, Grady, Mintz, Sharpe and TyTy. That might be why we aren’t scrambling for other players

Very good question KW. He's handling Brooks to the detriment of the team IMO. I love Cal and hate Cal for these things. I can't think of anyone I'd want as a replacement that'd be better but his damn shenanigans with players is pitiful. When Brooks and Toppin (yesterday) are playing pitiful, let Hopkins get in for longer than 15 seconds. I know Brooks scored the ball some yesterday but the kid makes so so many mistakes its just comical. Sorry for the rant.

Outside of a few turnovers, Brooks is one of the few who kept us in this game today. You never know which Brooks will show up, but he did today. Grady-I don't know what to say. Love him, but in several of the last few games, he has totally stunk. When he is like yesterday's game, and others lately, it;s like we are playing 4 against 5 (and with Adams and Shows-4 against 7). Teams should NEVER have to see the same refs more than once in a tournament. How unfortunate for us.

The truth is neither Toppin or Hopkins can beat out Brooks even though Brooks leaves the door wide open.
Huntley Hatfield would have killed Hopkins yesterday. UT just has bad matchups for Hopkins, too much length.
To me BH is a Charles Matthews level talent.
He could turn into a decent college player here or elsewhere but is not a future pro
I think Livingston is a better version of BH and if Brooks and Toppin return you basically have four 3/4 combo forward on the roster next year.
Hard to find pt for all four.

We'll disagree on Brooks. I realize he scored the ball some but him getting the ball stripped multiple times, throwing it in the stands, not rebounding and jogging back on defense I thought cost us more points than what he scored. Grady is unplayable last few games, he's got to get out of that funk. Yeah I agree, how in the world do we end up with Shows 2 games in a row, had to be the SEC brass just laughing at us. It's Tweak time.

Probably right about not beating Brooks out, I can see that. I don't agree with Brooks defense on anyone, I think he stinks guarding the water cooler. Hopkins may not be a pro, but I don't think Brooks or Toppin are either honestly just decent college players. I hope you're right about Livingston but I've heard reports of his motor being Brooksesque. How big is Livingston compared to Keion?

Haven't seen enough of Hopkins to really know. But he was awesome against ____ (my mind is failing me) recently. He can create, get to the rim, and he's powerful. He's just really short for what people want him to be and I don't think Tennessee was the matchup to see what he can do. Chuck Hayes was a SPECIAL player, guys.

I think he and Collins should have got more run throughout the season. Better to not be so one dimensional. Also might need them due to foul trouble.

Hoping Oscar comes back. Currently only two guy coming in next year. Will be interesting to see how this shakes out. I will say Cal normally pulls something off so I’m not too concerned

Hayes isn’t the best comp. I think Hopkins is more in the mold of a PJ Tucker type tbh.

Have seen that Hopkins is too slow to guard a three so the four is his only position. At his height at that position can he rebound the ball at high level to help the five? Hate us being out sized by some teams and just more excuses. Lack of size, shooting, scoring, defense ability, the recruiting part seems to be issues every year for one thing or another.

Hopkins reminded me of the tough kid that plays for Duke John he could’ve been a real help to us next year.
