Absolutely abysmal coaching performance by this staff last night on every single phase. As bad as it was, the fatal stupidity is the 3rd and 3 on the 22 late in regulation going in to win the game. RUN THE ******* BALL. Take a look in the mirror and fix it!

Are these dipshits trying to lose? My God. I could not believe we didn’t run it on 3rd and 2. What a melt down. We can’t even make a damn 30 yard field goal. I’d fire Foleys fat *** today.

3rd and 3 play had a throw to the flat as the primary read, but Raiola went through his progressions (as a QB should) and saw a wide open TD shot. What was Illinois' defensive alignment, how many in the box? I don't remember. Probably would have stuffed the run and people would be screaming to let the preseason freshman all-american try to make a play. Bad game last night all around.

Thank you. Agree. Bring in Haarberg and make them stop us. Again, I feel that dumb throw was the difference in a W and a L. We might have lost the game in OT but we should have closed out the game in regulation by grinding it out and getting close to a chip shot FG.

I have zero issues with that 3rd down call. We weren’t running the ball well and had Dylan thrown a better ball that is an easy TD. My issue is that we should have gone for it on 4th and 3. It is not as if our offense had been inept. We had moved the ball fairly well most of the game. I think the odds of our offense making 3 yards was exponentially higher than making a 39 yard field goal with our back up kicker. That was the worst coaching decision of the game.

Hohl was sabotaged on the snap/hold, Buschini didn't/couldn't get the football turned around all the way.

Sucks Rhule can't trust his special teams to get the details right at this point.

Our 5* QB couldn't overcome a mistake prone 3* bunch of try hards. Missed FG, long punt return, 4 defensive personal fouls all on drives that gave up points, wide open IL receivers most of the night, and 2 TD passes that resulted in 3 points and a touchback INT. This is a senior laden team, and future schedules are not any easier. It's crunch time for Rhule.

Best QB they’ve had in 30 years……can’t waste his time here with a putrid and undisciplined defense getting in the way.

You really think they could have ran for 2 yards even giving them 2 downs?

I think they probably could have. At the same time the playcall had a dude wide open in the end zone. Pretty hard to be upset about that.

It was a perfect play call and the guy was wide open. My only critique would be to not have a guy who barely sees the field get that route. The play was wide open though, just didn't execute.

We have a god awful run scheme. We did last year, we do this year. We look better this year overall because Dylan is better and the passing game makes plays.
I’ve been saying, we won’t win **** with Satt.
Some years we could win 7-8 , but you have to be damn good on offense to win anything.

Now, last night was still winnable with wither DR hitting a wide open TE or a half decent kicker. But we play 3-4 more teams better than ILL the rest of the way.

I see the chasing 3 series on YouTube and it’s funny… because how about you chase a fvcking kicker who can make field goals in the portal

You are right, can’t be upset it was a great call. Pass was just not executed.

Yep. Still had a chance to win the game with the field goal as well. Just didn't go our way. Sucks, but that is football. For me the senior leader on D need to show up. Ty is way to big to get pushed around. They all seemed to go away from their training and it cost us.

To be fair they did basically get tackled a few times. But agree, they are sucking right now

They weren't terrible all of the time and you are correct they were getting tackled, but both those dudes need to impose their will more. They are monsters. Play like the monsters you are men!

Wonder how many times the big dudes up front got double teamed and our LBs just didn’t fill the running lanes and make plays. I know this much, our outside containment was a disaster.

I don’t have any beef over the play calls. People hollering should have run the damn ball….well Illinois was expecting that and likely would have stuffed it.

LACES OUT MARINO!!!
I don’t even know the kicker’s name. I do know the Illinois player was taunting him, and when he got to the sidelines, he had the look of a guy that had just peed his pants. To me it’s incredible that we have a situation like that, a kicker that shouldn’t be on the team, with the staggering investment we make with our football program.
