Wait til China starts floating their trash overseas to us...maybe the balloon supporters will shut up then? Probably not...but but but I love balloons! Let's stop this nonsense already!

They’re biodegradable. Let’s stop trying to find reasons to be outraged and just let people enjoy themselves.
Apparently the game isn't enough? Biodegradable or not it's a ton of waste for 30 seconds of mediocre fun...zero logic here.

You probably litter for fun

I was right about you. What is the first thing you have done to better this country. Explain to me the difference between global warming and climate change.

Explain to me how more people are starving while governments are shifting towards a theory that hasn't been proven except in psuedo intellectual circles even when they can't predict it.

I separate my renewables. You judge me, tell me what I don't know.

Take it easy...only being sarcastic...have a happy thanksgiving

If it’s biodegradable then how is it waste? Are we upset about the helium usage now? What exactly are you upset about wasting? It’s fun, especially for the kids. Not everything in life has to be practical. They’ve already taken steps to make it environmentally friendly. Why is that not enough?

I think they have lil chips now they can put on things to track them. that don't cost much. they should add them to every 100th balloon, and kinda see where they go on average.

we throw a ton of non biodegradable demo building waste away every hour on average. 1 ton of biodegradable balloons are like nothing in the big picture.

I think it is a great story! Nice east coast outreach and marketing - we got Rozier and the Peter brothers from Jersey, if memory serves. Let's float more and hope for the best!

I think that is attitude that has gotten out of control...the whole we are wasteful already what's a little more waste. I guess these balloons and strings don't require the harvesting of latex, the production of cotton, the harvesting of trees to create the shipping boxes, the mining of oil for shipment, the collection of helium for lift or any other unnecessary means to get them to the stadium.

Sorry for my stance on preservation of our planet for future generations to come but wastefulness on a mass scale tends to bother me. I know being nit-picky on balloons at a Husker game is the least of our worries but the publicity alone for removing this practice would be impactful on many and would show we have interest in moving away from this attitude. We have to start drawing a line at some point and I'll still fight for the future generations even when I'm old and dying and have no reason to care.

I guess if I dig down to the root of my frustrations is that I'm an avid outdoorsman and can't stand going on a hike and finding trash every 100ft. This world is a beautiful place but we continue to trash it for quick fixes based on materialism.

So really my point is...30 seconds of watching a balloon float away is not justifiable and sends the wrong message.

Over and out

I understand you point, but I think your aim is off. because the facts is the balloons really are nothing and they make some folks happy.

Im all for being responsible in dominion over the earth, but I'd rather do it effectually. the china and india elephants in the room seem to be swallowed while focusing on a balloon

I don't disagree with your thinking but we're too accustomed to comparing our wasteful actions to other grander scale issues to justify what we are doing is ok. I have a child on the way and will be teaching he or she to interact and celebrate via a high five to a fellow fan after a touchdown over releasing a balloon.

nothing wrong with that but I wouldn't hassle folks with the balloons, I though the ballon issues way more about the gas thats used and how expensive it is/was...Im not sure how it's obtained or the supply/demand for it now, but it was a issue in the past if I remember it right.

I'll let the balloon go...no pun intended ;)
Arguing about it with anyone isn't worth it's weight in helium!
Trying to show that I dont come here to pick fights and I have a lighter side :)
Happy Thanksgiving and GBR!
