Yes, yes, yes. Before the season we thought having legit upside at PG and C would be huge. It proved out. We have it. And they're Sha Guys. I hope this means he'll do all he can to keep them, we should starting having some continuity and building with the improved budget. Spend the money. You don't need 10-deep. Hines can be a force, a legit dominant BE post player. He's going to command $2M likely, we need to spend it and build around him.

Since unlimited Free Agency, we have yet to retain any of our coveted players for a 2nd year. These are the kind of guys you want to build with. Sha has the money to keep them both, the question is how high will he be willing to go, how will he respond when their original ask is higher than he wants to pay?

I think Budd is more likely to return as his money should be reasonable. Najai is going to be highly coveted and you have to hope he and his team want to stay at SH and won't just covet top dollar. Will $2M at SH be acceptable if Washington or Kansas State or another random P4 team offers $2.2M?

Id say najai is the focus. Everyone else is a backup big east player. I do like parts of budds game but a big east team needs a dominate pg.

Hines would probably average 13 and 8 if he started all year. He looked like a sophomore tonight. He could’ve been there in January

Coaching malpractice. Hines is the best and most skilled player on this team by a wide margin. If he was starting the whole season we would have a 6-7 locked up in March right now. Sad to see the coach not doing his job properly, but can’t expect anything less from an inept offensive mind like Sha.

Hines lacked the stamina to be a full-time player and a starter. He’s also learning to play center at this level. I also heard that Hines is a big fan of Sha.

Hines did not practice all summer and missed multiple games with a concussion . Not in 100% shape,and he played a lot of minutes I thought and if he comes back with no other set backs he will be a monster .

Sha has done a good job this year, but one area where he messed up, imo, was not starting/giving more mins to Payne. Hines was the better player, you start him in hopes of retaining him, and I’m not buying the whole out of shape thing. He played him more when he needed to

There’s something to be said for coming in late and adjusting to BE from HS for a big. Idk to what extent this fitness topic was an issue but I hope Najai and his fam/handlers want to stay learning from Sha.

Idk if we’re going to be able to retain him. I’m doubtful bc it’s not what we’ve proven able to do.

He had no problem playing 30 mins and putting up a double double at UConn vs Tarris Reed one of the best bigs in the country. His stamina is there it’s not an issue. His under usage is the issue.

Hines defense is good when he’s in the paint. He falls for the dropstep all the time and gets beat. Facing an offense that moves the ball well he gets out of position a lot. He’s freshman with a lot to learn. He’s very athletic and has what it takes to become a very good player. Hope we can retain him. He and Clark should be their top priorities by far with a shooter.
