Yesterday I was sitting up in the 300 level and Pat Hobbs actually came up and was greeting and talking with fans during the game up there. He was comically asking if there were any shooters up there and thanking fans for coming out.

But let me just say as a fan this was fantastic. The fact that he took the time to come up there was awesome. Pat Hobbs gets it.

JH never, and i mean not a single time, ever made it by me... and I sit in the 100s!
He gets it for the big revenue sports but has done very little for the non revenue sports and there are changes that need to be made in some of those sports but he has not done anything there

Lax/soccer getting a brand new facility. Baseball has its indoor practice complex already. Wrestling and gymnastics headed to the RWJBARNABAS complex. In other words, you're wrong.

Maybe so, but it has to start with the revenue sports. Hopefully, once he gets that in order he can focus on the Olympic sports, which I am very supportive of, having competed in a non-revenue sport at RU.

Gymnastics and wrestling are part of what we are calling the new basketball facility. Moving wrestling, men's and women's basketball, and gymnastics from their current spaces frees up more of the existing spaces for other programs. There's a domino effect with each new upgrade. And improving the facilities for men's basketball is priority 1, 2, 3 as far as I'm concerned and cannot be compromised or lumped in with "non-revenue" sports.

I saw a few pics earlier today of him hanging out in the student section watching/cheering the team on during the game as well.

Julie often sat in the handicapped section behind Sec 118. I always got a chuckle out of that.

As far as I could tell Julie never engaged with RU fans at the RAC.

The dentist wants coaches fired. That is what he means by ignoring non-revenue sports. He would like to see the Men's Soccer coach, Women's Basketball coach and Women's Lacrosse coach fired. He also might want the scalp of the Baseball coach.

The dentist might have point there.

Yes new facilities equate to nothing. You understand that there is a process that needs to get done with these things right? The #1 issue was moving many of the teams out of the RAC so they had somewhere to actually practice. I'm sorry that you feel your issues haven't been address but the wrestling, 2 basketball, gymnastics, etc teams being right on top of each other in crap facilities is kind of the main issue at hand. And that was addressed in record time with record fundraising.

But yes if you want to look at things with your head in the sand, Hobbs has done nothing for the low revenue sports [eyeroll]

This is the human side of the rebuild and it's important in the process. Sounds like he enjoyed every minute, kidding around with the fans and having a good time. I think he was half serious about finding some shooters.

Hobbs did the same thing when at a game earlier i the season. He came up to the cheap seats and told everyone to move down.

Very untrue as it relates to MLAX.
