My OP was meant to be tongue in cheek. However, Fran Fraschilla just tweeted that Underwood "is about to have his pick of jobs". So who knows?

I give him a lot of credit. He got his first head coaching opportunity later in his career, and he has won around 30 games each year with two upsets in the NCAAs. I hope RU interviews him.

Simple look at the one kid. 19 for like 20 from foul line, ability to shoot the ball.

Those facilities at Stephen F. Austin have done wonders for their ability to shoot and play defense.

You need players and anybody coaching at Rutgers without the contacts will be picking from the bottom of the "high major" pool, and this has been going on forever.

Same as it ever was.

I had mentioned him and Ben Jacobson earlier this afternoon as guys off the radar from our usual names but he's likely going to be out of reach now that he's done this 2 years in a row. You should look at his record it's outstanding. 3 NCAA tourneys in 3 years, 88-13 and 53-1 in conference and at least 1 win in the tourney twice. He inherited a conference title team from the previous coach but they lost 3 seniors, 2 of which were leading scorers, the player of the year and 5 incoming recruits leaving 7 open scholarships and the whole staff when he took over. He makes about 400K.

Oklahoma State now that they've fired Ford does seem like a logical landing spot for him considering he's in Texas now and KSU is his alma mater.

Jacobson could be out of reach too. He's been at NIU for quite awhile, makes 900K and has turned down other offers in the past. Seems quite comfortable there. Seemed like he's in a no man's land between definite out of reach names like Miller/Mack and our usual suspects. A win tonight and he'll likely go out of reach too with a couple tourney appearances in the past and now again the last couple years.

Would love Underwood! Stephen F. Austin played smart and sound and were just fun to watch. That's what I'd like to see a new coach bring, whomever that may be. Similar to Ash, someone who creates a buzz and promise of changing the culture of the program, and whose team plays a smart and exciting style of ball. I could be wrong, but I just don't get a sense of that from some of the top candidates being mentioned.

Politi tweeted out last night that RU was contacting SFA but I couldn't tell if he was being sarcastic. I thought he was myself. Do you contact a school before they've been eliminated?

As said above, I've seen his name as a candidate for Ok. State. Buzz Williams at VT also was one and, bac should love this, Ok. State alum and college announcer Doug Gottlieb.

Brad Umderwoods record is insanely good.

Howewver, to be fair, he took over a pretty good team so you have to consider the guy before him too, though to me it seems like Underwood is better.

Another coach that is good is the guy at Wichita State.

He did inherit a regular season conference title team but it wasn't just autopilot if you read what I wrote above. There's also an article I posted yesterday afternoon when I brought Underwood/Jacobson up which talks a little about his transition. It wasn't all smooth sailing there were bumps in that transition.

Unfortunately after last night on top of the last couple years he may have slipped out of reach for us and we might have to wait on other schools like Ok. State to pass on him for ourselves to have a chance.
