I've been researching the more secretive places on campus and you guys post a lot about tunnels and hatches/stairways but never give any precise explanations. I'm dying to check it out but snooping would go way faster if I had some actual directions.

There is a tunnel from the vet school to the hump. I've only been in it once, and I was hammered.

I know about the tunnels behind the cafeteria and possibly post office, but nobody says what the entrances look like/how to spot them. Same with getting on the Lee building or finding the attic to Montgomery.

Meet me at the secret tunnel and I will show you the door. Bring at least a minimum of a 300 lumen flashlight, granola bars and camel pack. Pm sent

Actually I'm not all that interested in the tunnels, except maybe the dragon room. I'm mostly interested in Montgomery and Lee.

Yeah for real, I'm not doing that. Plus it makes zero sense...if I could meet you at the secret tunnel then I wouldn't need you to show me the door?

you have to wait until football season. its 30 paces from the indian burial mounds facing SW and when you reach the first blue tent, take an 90 degree turn and its another 75 paces...you will see an old hag wearing a "***** im a dawg" tshirt and when you ask her the pass phrase: "juicy jumbos or ***-smelling cups?" she will tell you where the entrance is.

Even when you find the door, you can't open it without a wand and the phrase "Alohomora".

You could start by running into the Room of Three Gargoyles. Push in the right tongue, and it might lead you down a staircase and into the Wall Climb or a run across the Troubled Bridge. Here, you must choose your next path. You could race up into the Observatory, spin the sundial, and pass into the Room of the Golden Idols/Treasure Room. Once there, push down their bases to release the doors, that may take you below/there, you'll lift up the treasure chest and climb down through it, or try to enter/lead you into the Shrine of the Silver Monkey. Assemble the statue, and you may be headed for the Torch Room/Pirate's Cove. If the elevator is up, then you can descend into the Mine Shaft/Spin the ship's wheel, and you can descend into the Dungeon. You can climb up the ladder, or plow through the stone wall, find the key, and it may unlock the Tomb of Ancient Kings, which will allow you to enter the Treacherous Swamp or climb into the Spider's Lair. If you escape, then you may have a chance to sit upon the Throne of the Pretender or enter the room of Harmonic Convergence. Stand on the proper two steps, and the doors may open. If the correct door is unlock/stone slab is up, you could crawl or run through the Pit of Despair, and finally make your way through the Cave of Sighs and back through the Temple Gate!

Whatever you do, don't open the Arc of the covenant. The Nazis got 17ed up when they did.

As for Montgomery, in '96 you could just walk up the stairwell to the 4th floor but once you got to the 4th floor it was sealed off. Not sure if there's another way onto it unless you took the fire escape and broke a window. Any of y'all had a class in Montgomery since '96 and might know something different?

Not since '96 but

In fall of 89 it was sealed off just the same as you mentioned in the stairwell. There was a vertical ladder fire escape on the west side of the building. Some friends and I climbed that fire escape, and the window at the very top was easy to open. It really wasn't that interesting inside. Just an abandoned space in an old building. Haven't looked in a while, but I think they removed that old fire escape several years ago.

As an FYI the entire university used to get heat via steam from the physical plant that is located behind the old laundry and band hall. Steam tunnels run throughout the campus if you which buildings then the tunnels are there!

Guy in Sessums (86) drank too much (can't spell yaeger meister). Campus police pulled him out of the steam tunnels. He thought he was Harry Houdini. Couldn't tell you how he got there though.

They're right behind Patterson. If you're in the big parking lot behind McKee and look towards Engineering Row, you'll be looking at the entrance.

Start at the SD Lee statue

Open his mouth and climb in. Only the penitent man shall pass. Once inside you will find a room with letters on the floor. Only in the name of God will you move forward*. Finally, with a leap from the lion's head, will you prove your worth. But, beware: the cowbell cannot pass beyond the Leo Seal Center, for that is the boundary, and the price, of bulldoghood.

* Remember: in the Latin alphabet, Jehovah begins with an "i".

Anybody know why MSU sealing off the top floor of Montgomery? When did this occur?
I'm guessing during the renovation. It is Administrative now. It's very well done. Worth a visit if you haven't seen it. Esp if you remember it as it was when it was the LA department.

LA has its own building. It's over by the forestry building. Very nice. Worth a visit as well. Really nice courtyard with nice design elements.
I really enjoyed classes in Montgomery. Would have really liked to have had classes on the new building though. 3 flights of stairs in Montgomery for 3 years got old fast. ****

at the time, they (MSU) had to seal it off because there was no elevators to the upper floors and the stairs from the 3rd to the then sealed off floors did not meet code.

3 years, you are lucky. The trailers had a nice deck space during the transition. Supposedly they dug the newst tunnel from there to the new buildings.
