So Kaleb made a dumb rookie mistake on a kickoff return.
So take him off the return team forever. Lol
Then give no carries or one a game.
Give the other backs 10-15, the guy is a baller. Let him get in a rhythm!! He will break some huge runs! Give the guy 10 touches, give him a chance!

None of us have any idea what goes on at practice and inside that locker room. Might not be as plain as you are making it out to be. My guess is that a guy who has been an NFL coach for almost 20 years has a grip on his personnel a little better than Iowa message board fan who wants to see his boy play.

Steelers are in a playoff chase and have 2 high-quality RB's carrying the load. Don't think Kaleb is being punished as much as he hasn't shown enough to take carries away from the two main guys, and head coaches always have a short leash with rookies on special teams.

It's a tough business. Hopefully he can hang in there long enough to get his shot.

Yeah, I don't think the Steelers have gotten to the point yet where they are molding their team around a 3rd round pick

Putting KJ on special teams was the first mistake. Especially in a league with different Kickoff rules. Always hated that decision. Should've focused solely on being a RB. Luckily, Steeler nation is sick of Tomlin's inadequacy and are trying to push him out the door. No playoff wins in 10 years is simply unacceptable for an organization like the Steelers. Doesn't help the Steelers have a terrible OLine and offensive coordinator. Being a Steeler fan is rough.

If Rodgers is not the QB, I think people would see a totally different offensive philosophy. I think Rodgers pretty much dictates who he wants on the field. If he doesn't trust you, you will not see the field. One thing I have heard though, is Kaleb had a tough time early on picking up blitzes and it set him back.

Good thing he's yet another Iowa player who left early and is now having rousing success as a bench player/alien abduction because the money needed to be gotten NOW.............and what not.

I did see Tyler Goodson on special teams for the Colts. Dude ran down and caught his own Punter's ball inside the 10 yard line. Watched cause Rivers was back in at QB baby!

As a stiller fan this is 1000% correct.
Not writing off KJ at all but the guys in front of him are simply better right now. Gainwell is hot and I have to ride that in December .
Kaleb will get his shot. He needs to come back next fall ready to compete. Steelers haven’t given up on him .

A year-to-year league, where even the best teams get destroyed by injuries.

A coach that has never had a losing season in 18 years.

Clearly, developmental issues there
the never losing season is a tired narrative for us Steeler fans at this point. He also hasn’t had the Steelers competitive in a playoff game in a decade! Not acceptable in the Burgh.

KJ is clearly not showing enough to get meaningful game minutes. That simple.

Add in that special teams opportunity and subsequent failure? Yikes. If he keeps his head up maybe he’ll find a new team soon.

Yep. As possibly the longest-term Stillers fan on this forum, Ol' Doodle has said it more than once, the whole "no losing seasons" streak is the NFL equivalent of Nebraska's sellout streak. An utterly meaningless bit of data that has one purpose and one purpose only....to deflect criticism away from the morbid mediocrity the franchise has suffered from for the past decade+.

After going to four Super Bowls in six years in the 70s, the sixteen-year drought between Super Bowl 14 and 30 seemed like an eternity. Now, after having gone to three Super Bowls in six years in the 00s, we're staring down the barrel of a FIFTEEN year drought since Super Bowl 45.

Unacceptable is putting it mildly.

C'mon with that comparison, man. The Steelers streak of seasons >.500 may not mean a lot to Steelers fans accustomed to championships, but at least it's real. The Nebraska sellout streak has been fiction for well over a decade now.

Barely squeezing 8 (or 9 now that there are 17 games) wins and finishing 3rd in the division while either missing the playoffs or barely getting in and being humiliated in the first round is every bit as meaningful as Nebraska's sell-out streak. Both are equally irrelevant in the grand scheme. Just something to brag about when you have nothing else of true substance about which you can brag.

I’m not arguing about the relevance of either. My point is that you are comparing fact to fiction.

What is it with black and gold teams being overly loyal to coaches?
part of me says the Rooney's are overly proud of the only 3 coaches in 50 years in PIT.
another part says it's tricky w Tomlin because the Rooney's were champions of the rule with the same name that deals with interviewing and giving minorities coaching opportunities. I really think that has something to do with it.
They have never been knee jerk reaction kind of owners.
Sometime two things can be true. Tomlin is a good coach and would get hired almost immediately if he so wanted. But after 20 years maybe you just need a different set of eyes on the team.
