Name it Paterno Field at Beaver Stadium, put the statue back, sprinkle Franco's ashes on the field, burn Saquon's toe nail clippings in each endzone, and bury one cleat of Tyler Warren and DaeSean Hamilton at the 50 yard line.

We lift the curse!
Or, just unhire Knowles

Oh joy, our resident drunk lonely guy is attacking victims of child molestation. Did you type that while wearing a hooded robe, kneeling before a wall-sized picture of Epstein, chanting "it's not a cult"?
Real victims don’t need memory repression therapy.

And, well, whether he had any knowledge of his predilections or not, he did have a serial child molester as his second in command during the "glory years" which resulted in all these sycophants wanting to worship at the feet of his statue. So there's that ...
Sandusky committed his crimes after the administration, not Paterno, gave him a retirement package which included permitting him to bring Second Mile kids onto campus and use Penn State facilities (and after Paterno, when asked as a courtesy what he thought of the retirement package, said in writing, a copy of which is attached as an exhibit to the Freeh report that he would be okay with giving Sandusky access to campus facilities but not Second Mile kids due to potential liability issues). The Centre County police and DPW separately investigated Sandusky for a similar shower incident 10 years before his arrest. The police failed to charge and DPW had a psychological evaluation done which concluded that Sandusky fit the classic profile of a groomer. For reasons no one will ever know because no one in the AG’s office (including our current governor) which has oversight responsibilities over both DPW and the Second Mile, ever bothered to investigate either, DPW then had a second evaluation done, over the written objection of a Centre County DA, performed which concluded that he was harmless (while I know rational thought is not one of your “talents” guess which version DPW reported back to Penn State?). Paterno reported whatever McQuery told him the next day to his boss who in turn reported it to Schultz who immediately contacted university counsel to inquire about the legal obligation to report suspected abuse. Spanier, who was the sole person as the person in charge responsible for reporting suspected abuse to DPW admitted in an email that he would go along with Curley’s recommendation that they merely notify the Second Mile and not report to DPW essentially that this could come back to bite them if Sandusky “didn’t behave”.

First of all I don’t drink. Second, I represented a 4 year old minor who was repeatedly molested I’m a day care center.

Why did you waste all this time spewing out irrelevancies? Note the portion of my post, in question: whether he had any knowledge of his predilections or not,.

You recounting the basic history - of which everyone is aware - does nothing to combat anything I said.

The salient point is that everyone wants to look back so fondly at that time, as if it's some eden we need to find again ... and that explains away how we have to treat coaches going forward, and the expectations we should have ... when, even in the best of times, we had a serial child molester as the #2. So, looking back at that time shouldn't give us that snuggly feeling. If Charles Manson was a successful, important assistant coach before doing all the fun stuff he did, fans of that team wouldn't/shouldn't be looking back saying "we deserve to be like THAT again ... I long for those times ... let's worship that."

First of all I don’t drink.

The comment in question was a reply to MtNittany ... are you outing yourself as MtNittany? Or outing yourself as confused and unable to read and comprehend?

Second, I represented a 4 year old minor who was repeatedly molested I’m a day care center.

You're a day care center? That's weird. How are you sentient? Or does this confusion help explain your earlier identity confusion re MtNittany, as well?

Yeah my bad but unlike you I don’t accuse others of being pedophiles.

Yes, really.

If you're not a JoeBot, then why are you concerned?

Many/most of the "we deserve better" crowd are JoeBots. Because they have turned Joe into an actual god, and forgotten/forgiven all the non-good things that happened during his reign, they've determined that the relatively brief period of football dominance Joe had defines his entire reign, and that all successors need to be held to that mythical standard, as well. "We" deserve that ... "we" deserve better. Really, though, amongst JoeBots, the "we deserve better" push is just a way to highlight that the current pretender coaches don't measure up to JoePa (the mythical version of him, of course). They just want to continue worshipping the statue, they don't want to move on. They actually don't want a successor to do better - as that would sully the myth of JoePa's superiority (again, never mind he only won big with a serial child molester as his chief architect of defensive success and his second in command).

It was a mistake to read this thread. Why rehash all the nonsense of the past?
