I think part of that was OSU prepared for that game not expecting McCabe to go down a minute into the game. Deal was able to step up and surprise them which was huge but now teams are scouting her harder, which is another step up in difficulty for a freshman.

I don’t think McCabe is a season ending loss but it’s clearly a bigger hurdle than (most) fans thought. They’re gonna have to adjust, other players will have to pick up the slack and it was probably always unlikely they’d figure that out on the road immediately after losing her. Just can’t let things snowball from here.
