I'll be interested in watching RHJ in action. He's on the same team as Jean Montero, who I've heard good things about.

Coverage of the combine begins tomorrow on ESPNews from 3-5 PM ET and transitions to ESPN2 from 5-7 PM ET. The coverage will continue on Friday from 1-2 PM ET on ESPN2 and 2-5 PM ET on ESPNews.

With that wingspan be can play taller or at least go toe to toe with someone who is like 6’9” but with an average nba differential. Plus he has beef to bang bodies. It’s all about can he keep up with the lateral quickness. Obviously athleticism and jumping ability is massive but just standing straight up and down or playing wide. He has that in spades.

6'5.5 but with a crazy wingspan is interesting to note.... wonder if that means Dylan has an impressive wingspan as well

This is kind of what was expected. The full combine measurements aren't officially out but comparing to 2021 it isn't good.
Weight: 7th overall (Luka Garza weighed in at 242.8lbs)
Body Fat%: 4th overall

https://www.nba.com/stats/draft/combine-anthro/?SeasonYear=2021-22&sort=WEIGHT&dir=1

Wingspan is helpful and mitigates the rest but only to a point.
The problem with only wingspan is that once someone is in motion - it significantly cuts down on the effectiveness of wingspan.

Wingspan combined with speed is the goal for a wing player.
Ron isn't going to be defending a post-up where he can just put his arms up and impact a shot.
Or defending the lane as a help defender.

He's going to chasing guys around screens.
If he doesn't have speed to stay with the guy - then his wingspan isn't going to help.

If Ron has 14.3% body fat at 240 lbs, what was his body fat % during the season at 260 lbs?

Makes the people getting sooooo offended at the thought that Ron could have benefited from losing a few pounds seem pretty ridiculous
Not sure what you are saying here. Typical body fat for a basketball player that's a serious athlete is 6-12%. Source below. So Ron is still higher than the normal range and weighing 240. So if he was 260 he'd be well out of the range of normal.

Source https://www.marsden-weighing.co.uk/...xt=The body fat percentage of,14-20% body fat.

Side note, its crazy seeing Dom Barlow at this when we were his best offer this time a year ago. Meanwhile people on this board laugh at the idea of doing something like Overtime Elite or G League Ignite instead of college

To be fair, testing well and playing well are too different things.

Bishop Daniels and Corey Sanders prob would have tested like late 1st rounders

I have a friend who works in the Knicks front office . I asked him about Ron’s chances of getting drafted second round.

he said everyone loves his game but his body is what is holding his draft stock back.

(of course that’s a shock to nobody)

I personally think his body helped him over power guys at times at the college level. Definitely held his vertical back but that’s a trade off as he had plenty of hops to finish at the rim.

But that’s direct from a nba front office staff member. Said everyone is kind of confused why he never molded or cleaned that up. Thinks he would be a lock second rounder if he did. Still thinks he has a chance but very much on the bubble

You are saying Ron wasn't fat?
I'm saying he obviously could have played at a lower weight. People were having a stroke at the thought of stating the obvious. At 6'5.5 260lb it makes those people look silly.

It would be like freaking out saying Douby could have used a few extra pounds of muscle. It's not an insult, it's just a blatantly obvious fact.

And before these people freak out again, I absolutely love Ron and he was an absolute beast for us. If he played this season with a focus on his body I think he could have even reached a higher level. I don't think that should be a controversial opinion but people are trying to take it as Ron bashing

You ever play at his level with an injury? I played at a much lower lower lower lower etc etc etc level through injuries and could not keep weight off. Season ended and I lost weight. It’s not rocket science for anyone who was an athlete.

Interesting measurables. I thought for sure he was over at least 6”6.

He plays a lot bigger than he really height wise, but his weight and wingspan helped with that.

Was he injured every year? Coming into the season as well? If so that's a lot of injuries and some really tough breaks. Less weight is good for preventing injuries. Less stress on joints/muscles/back.

His body looks excellent in these clips. Would have loved to see it at RU

Ok. Now I understand. I agree with you. He was generally the only guy on the court that wasn’t ripped.

I’m sure that’s what he would have wanted too. It’s much easier for you to say it than for him to do it. Two years ago he came in very lean then got hurt and steadily put on weight. Of course it was well documented by the board critics.

You should read Man in the Arena by T Roosevelt. It’s a one pager. That’s how I feel about many comments made on this board and the Football board. You guys don’t count. RHJ counts. He brought us to the dance 3 of 4 years while guys like you critiqued him. He counts. The critics do not count.

He's actually 6-5, but 6-9 with the afro...
