It was on this day in 2014 when Eichorst fired Bo Pelini, despite Nebraska beating Iowa a few days earlier. Eichorst said, "In the final analysis, I had to evaluate where Iowa was."

At the time, Iowa had 7 losing seasons over the previous 34 years (0 since). Since then, Nebraska has had 6 losing seasons, and have gone 0-7 vs. Iowa. Hawkeyes are 63-24 (.724) since that day, while the Huskers are 34-49 (.410).

*** Eichorst, Harvey PERLMAN, the state sponsored MEDIA and anyone else who was down with the intentional sinking of the ship that put us at the bottom of the Pacific!!

Especially the fkn "fair-weather" fans who left that OSU game in 2011! You losers who thought a monkey could come to Lincoln and win 9-10 games a year can go STRAIGHT TO HELL!!

Oh yea Steve Pederson can go there too...

I'm still convinced Eichorst was a plant from Alvarez at Wisconsin and the Big 10 - Look at it:

- Born: Lone Rock, WI
- Assistant AD under Alvarez at Wisconsin
- Anderson resigns at Wisconsin, despite a great record at Wisconsin; said he disliked the upper management there
- Oregon State is having yet another ****** year under Mike Riley, former Wisconsin coach Anderson is looking for a job elsewhere
- Oregon State learns of Anderson's interest, tells Mike Riley to take a hike
- Anderson takes Oregon State job
- Eichorst sees this hot f***ing commodity now on the market,
- Eichorst actually hires Mike Riley a coach who just went 5-7 at OSU to replace Bo Pelini, who just went 9-4 at Nebraska

Odd very first post…

Majority of us despise SE for not having a clue who to hire after firing Pelini and getting his advice from Alvarez..

Why does Nebraska take advice from Alvarez? He likely gives bad advice on purpose because he wants Wisconsin to continue to beat Nebraska like a drum. The smart thing to do would be to do the opposite of whatever Barry Alvarez advises.

While Eichorst sucked, which he did, and most likely still does....

He wasn't wrong. Iowa is Iowa. We don't want to be them. They're the definition of mediocre as a program throughout their history. So he was aiming higher because we're a higher caliber program. His hiring of Riley was a trash move. All these things are true at the same time. Let me just say again, even at 3-9 though, thank God we're not Iowa. Those *** clowns literally ripped off their uniforms from a pro team. They can't even come up with their own uniform? The highest their ceiling will ever be, is right now. Which is hysterical given their offense and lucky breaks. GMAFB, Go Blue this weekend, and GBR.

there's a reason good coaching books are not titled
(^@# them all (ohio state)
or
hip hip hurray (oregon state)

both are extremes to be avoided

Fans that somehow feel embarrassed about things
An AD that was scared to come out of his office
Local media hacks that had it out for Bo

The trifecta of stooooopid.

Nebraska Football has 99 problems and Harvey Perlman isn't one.

When does the statute of limitations run out on that tired old excuse?

Worst Athletic Director hire in the history of NU. Steve Pederson and Bill Moos seemed - at least on the surface - like good hires on the day of their announcements, but Eichorst was a "What the Hell?" hire on day one - all the vetting team had to do was read the sports page of the Miami Herald to find enough red flags to cross him off the list, but somehow Perlman hired him anyway.

The problem was, asking Barry flippin Alvarez for advice on who to hire for AD. Kind of like asking Kirk Ferentz on who we should hire for a head coach.

Alverez owns Nebraska. Dude took the “successful” Nebraska blueprint to a program that was as bad as Nebraska currently is and made them into a consistent winner. Then he translated into a very successful AD and has managed to watch his program maintain success over Nebraska ever since.

More disturbing is how Nebraska threw away the same blueprint for success just as other schools were copying it. Why did Nebraska need to convert to pass-happy offenses? Why did Nebraska allow the nation's best offensive line to fall into disrepair? Why did Nebraska allow the strength program to fall well behind the pack? Why did Nebraska make a series of buddy hires that led to a below-average coaching staff?
