Super talented kid, hope he can get healthy and have a great pro career.

Selfishly, this is great news for MSU. Not that we did anything that caused him to get hurt, but it’s just good optics for recruiting to be able to tell first round type of talents “come to MSU and you’ll make even more money in 2-3 years.”

Good thing he didn't go early and invest his money in Cruise Stocks.

Good for him. Did anyone else catch Rosebowl on Friday’s episode say:

“I know there are some Dodger fans out there. Im sorry to tell you, but the Mets are a better organization than the Dodgers.”

That’s quite a hot take.

Crazy that after 1 mediocre season and major arm surgery, he gets $500,000 more than he was offered out of high school. Good for him. He definitely made the right decision this time.

He was lucky he came to State. The pro's would have destroyed his arm....they just put them in a bag, shake them up and see who falls out.

Wow. Thats a bold statement. He may have been suggesting farm only? But with the dodgers/yankees/red sox of the world, That never stops them. They will always buy their way back. So his point is not valid even if thats what he was suggesting

The Mets aren't a better organization currently, mainly because the owners run the team like it's a small market team. But, the team is for sale and a big-market owner will run it differently. Being in NY, the Mets have the same ceiling that the Yankees have, which is unmatched by anyone outside of New York. They also have their own TV network and a relatively new stadium.

The Mets have been the most poorly-run organization in baseball relative to market size over the last couple of decades. But that's likely to be changing soon.

He made more than $500k more, Dodgers offered well below slot in 2018. It’s probably closer to $1 million. Mets basically doubled the slot amount for their pick, which is pretty crazy.

The Mets are also notoriously one of the worst orgs at handling injuries.

Maybe once upon a time. I don't see that so much anymore. I think the problem is more to do with the market they are in. If something doesn't go well and you're in Milwaukee, it doesn't really matter. But if something doesn't go well in NYC, it's all over the back pages of the Post, the Times, and the Daily News.

I’m also very happy for him. Because now we don’t have to face him and MacLeod both on back to back days, haha
