I was just commenting to someone you never see Uncle Sam any more. He was everywhere in the 70s and 80s.

Went down to Southport for the 4th of July parade and festival. Was very hot, but great. Came home and grilled a bunch of meat with the neighbors and shot off a combined $2,000 worth of (illegal) fireworks. Way better than downtown. And now there is an impressive lightning show to cap the day off.

I love Southport but got the worst case of chiggers ever seen there. Now I will not go out during the summer without basically bathing in Deet.
