Stats for 2026 NCAA Tournament - 14 points, 17.5 rebounds (9.5 offensive rebounds), and 5 assists per game. She came through like a champion. ***** all you want, we are going to miss her. She has been one of the best Hawks ever.
Definitely will be missed. Jensen has her work cut out for her in trying to find ways to replace her invaluable boards production. I believe that JJ has no choice - she will need to bring in an experienced PF to help out.Stats for 2026 NCAA Tournament - 14 points, 17.5 rebounds (9.5 offensive rebounds), and 5 assists per game. So 7-12 from the field yesterday and 19 rebounds, yes 19 rebounds plus 6 assists at the Piwer Forward position and you want her coming off the bench? I know you’re trolling for the most part but go put out a fire somewhere Smokey the bandit.Sorry but if you can’t shoot or make free throws, you should be a reserve coming off the bench.

Hannah is a rebounding machine, no question. She's a bigger body out there too, which might be more difficult to find, but she's obviously offensively challenged. So if they can find someone who can do a little bit of both might be a wash, which wouldn't be too bad.Definitely will be missed. It's always easier for folks to concentrate on the negatives than to see things on balance. Everyone wishes Hannah was a better shooter, nobody more than Hannah herself. She was just never able to develop that skill. On balance Hannah's excellent rebounding and defense made up for those shooting deficiencies. That's why she was out there. So 7-12 from the field yesterday and 19 rebounds, yes 19 rebounds plus 6 assists at the Piwer Forward position and you want her coming off the bench? We'll see an even better version of Journey next year, so looking forward to that. While she might have regularly been giving up a few inches inside, she makes up for it with her mobility and nose for the ball. Even though she was 2 inches shorter, she actually rebounded at the same rate as Hannah this year. Her ability to hit the midrange consistently and draw forwards away from the basket is really going to open things up for Ava inside. That was often a problem as players sagged off of Hannah. If she can get that 3 point shot going consistently she's going to be a force next year.Hannah is a rebounding machine, no question. Find a 6'2" Journey Houston clone and we're set.![]()
She scored way more than Rodman ever did.the Dennis Rodman of Iowa women's basketball !!!
She got up off the floor ,ran the length of the court and grabbed a rebound! Monster hustle!!!!!This is the difference between the men’s and women’s program right now. As Ben M said, “Everyone got all sensitive and stuff.” Virginia just went out there and took it. Hannah actually played really hard like usual, but the rest of the team, IDK.
She improved her FT% by over 20 percentage points from Fr (46%) to Jr (67.5%) year. Not sure what happened this year thoughIt's unfortunate she never really improved her offensive game or FT shooting over her career...
Hannah needed a mental coach for her free throws. Sometimes she would stand at the line confidently and swish both, typically early in the game. But other times as the pressure increased, you could just see the fear. She improved her FT% by over 20 percentage points from Fr (46%) to Jr (67.5%) year. Not sure what happened this year though
Going into the tournament she was .59999 for her career - Assume she finished right around there. She improved her FT% by over 20 percentage points from Fr (46%) to Jr (67.5%) year. Not sure what happened this year though
Journey has a much better jumper, but I'm afraid she won't be able to score half the buckets that Stuelke scored the other day. Journey just doesn't have the size that Hannah has to bang inside. We'll see an even better version of Journey next year, so looking forward to that. Sure, but Journey is only a true freshman, and has a real shot at becoming a 3 level scorer, whereas Hannah struggled more than a few feet from the basket. I would counter the suggestion that she can't score at a similar rate because of her lack of size with 4 statistics from conference play that suggest otherwise:Journey has a much better jumper, but I'm afraid she won't be able to score half the buckets that Stuelke scored the other day. I'm not saying Houston won't score as many or more points than Stuelke. I'm saying she can't score some of the baskets that Stuelke did. I think Iowa needs a strong, athletic big like Stuelke, and Houston is not, and still won't be when she graduates.Sure, but Journey is only a true freshman, and has a real shot at becoming a 3 level scorer, whereas Hannah struggled more than a few feet from the basket. I would counter the suggestion that she can't score at a similar rate because of her lack of size with 4 statistics from conference play that suggest otherwise:
1) Journey scored at nearly an identical per 40 rate as Hannah (17.0 vs 17.6).
2) Journey was a more efficient scorer with an EFG% of 54% vs Hannah's 52%.
3) Journey was a much better FT shooter at 77% vs Hannah's 59%. Hannah's lack of FT shooting took at least 2-3 points off of her scoring average.
4) Finally, Journey rebounded at the same rate as Hannah and slightly better on the offensive boards, so in terms of performance, Hannah's size wasn't an advantage vs Journey.
Hannah was an incredible defender--way above her height. She defended Cardoso and Dantas incredibly at AmeriCup. Her team defense and help defense and ability to switch on to anyone was very important this year.Sure, but Journey is only a true freshman, and has a real shot at becoming a 3 level scorer, whereas Hannah struggled more than a few feet from the basket. She would have been a starter on every team in the country except for 6 or 7.Sorry but if you can’t shoot or make free throws, you should be a reserve coming off the bench.
My comments in no way were intended to belittle Hannah's contributions and I agree that her defense was underappreciated. I was simply pointing out that Journey had a very solid freshman campaign and played above her height so to speak.Hannah was an incredible defender--way above her height. The talk all focused on Kylie's defense, but Hannah's rotations over on help defense saved the day many a time.
Her defense is underappreciated.
Maybe, but also really bad form, with her elbow sticking out sideways and no two shots looking the same. Its really hard to shoot the ball straight when the elbow is not lined up right.Hannah needed a mental coach for her free throws.
