great dance team performance at the half, danced to Lady Gaga’s song Shallow from A Star is Born, strangely it worked

More entertaining than our offense
I agree great performance. Better than our offense and defense.

The TV giveaway thing is so cringe. Can we put that money towards NIL instead please? It's not like we have trouble filling up the RAC, wtf is the point of it?
I think it's good for football. But to do it twice at a sold out RAC? However, the flip side could be that LG gives them the TV for free in exchange for the advertising.

The way RU does the TV giveaway is the stupidest method in the history of sports stadiums/arenas. Give a TV to a cheerleader and give it to someone. Huh? How does the cheerleader determine who gets the TV?

RU needs to make the giveaway truly random. There are several methods to make it happen.

Off my soapbox.

First of all the dude holding the TV box doesn’t even have his arms fully extended to hold the damn thing.
How big is that screen, it’s the size of a large computer monitor or a giant iPad.
Yea it’s lame.

Secondly…..seriously shout out to the dance team. When they started the song I was bewildered, but that was pretty impressive. Like 20 completely synchronized spins. Maybe that dance coach can come help coach some offensive off ball movement.

At first I thought the song was a poor choice, but the back end of the song was what made it very worthwhile

Instead of a 5th player put one of those tvs on the court during live game action with Caleb Mcconell highlights on loop.

Non zero chance Video Caleb is a better defender than some of our guys.

Anybody sitting first row court side shouldn't be getting a free tv.

How lazy does this “TV Guy”have to be to give a free tv to someone sitting court side.

The “minute of madness “ bit is the most stupid idea yet in this new time out entertainment ideas we are being subjected too.

Dance team was awesome, the dude kills it every performance.

I saw one of the TV's that were given away being carried to their car on the way out at the 3 minute mark. I think it said 42 inch TV.

I always thought the box they use in the games was empty and they hold it for you until you claim it at the end of the game. I'm not sure how it works though.

Watched the game at home on FS1. When Ace hit his three's, the public address announcer was loud, long, and annoying. Is it the same guy who does football games?

Dance team at RU has been amazing for a long time. They should be made famous and hyped up way more by the University, like the USC Song Girls or Alabama Crimsonettes, but yet another flop. The team has won multiple national championships, they should get banners hung in the rafters like the other 500 we have in the RAC now. They won it in 2018 and then got to be Team USA at worlds in London and won the gold medal. Yet another banner that should be hung or at least make a display in one of the many dusty empty trophy cases in the RAC hallways. A total miss

The male member of the team is super talented. It takes an enormous amount of courage for him to be out there. Good for him.
He didn't plan to be at Rutgers but his older sister is on the Rutgers dance team and convinced him to come to Rutgers and join the dance team.

If you want to support the dance team, now is the time! Next Friday and Saturday, the team is competing at the national championship in Orlando. On Tuesday, the R Fund sent me an email asking for a donation to, "ensure they have the resources," to compete in the national championship.

In 2023, the most recent year available figures, the spirit teams managed on $616,477 of spending. This includes the band, cheerleaders, dance team, and mascot.

The dance team halftime show was simply amazing. At first I wasn't sure what was happening and then I was just blown away by the whole thing.

Totally agree that giving a TV away to somebody sitting courtside is lazy and ridiculous. I like the fact that he went up and gave somebody in the band a TV though. They deserve more accolades and credit as well.

Personally I'm a fan of the minute of madness. It's fun and it's silly and it's entertaining and it makes me forget about the other crap that goes on on the court

How many teams at Rutgers can you say that about ?
Probably just fencing and wrestling a couple of years back, which was really cool. I was able to get down to Olde Queens for the bell ringing!

individuals not teams... not that there is anything wrong with those either.
missed penalty kick vs. UCLA in NC soccer was a super close miss. Womens BBall vs. Tenn in NC game...

guess the women's AIAW bball team is the only real one and even that is a debate ..

It’s so bad. The gameday experience for basketball blows compared to 3 4 years ago and that tv thing is the worst!
Was watching a bb game yesterday (Illinois I think) and during a break in the game, they had a fan hit a tennis ball with a golf putter the length of the court and try to get the ball thru a 6 inch opening in a wooden cutout of a tractor. If the ball goes thru, he wins a real tractor. Thought that was pretty cool. Not sure many NJ fans would want a tractor but maybe a different prize would be more appropriate.
