Not sure that was a wise move since he is the one responsible for recruiting them and coaching them to perform.

Obviously he can’t shoot for them but he was complaining that they were playing for themselves instead of the team.

IMHO half of this is recruiting, and the rest is being prepared to play. *Both are on the Head Coach. Not sure this is the time to be blaming the players who are trying to play their best in my opinion.

My guess is that the players thought they could just show up & beat an 8-6 Cincy since they blitzed Temple. However, it's Haith's & staffs responsibility to disavow their players of this notion and get their minds right to play on the road. Obviously didn't get it done.

I thought he was right that we took a lot of bad shots outside the offense in the second half.

So I don't have an issue with his statement. It did not seem like avoiding responsibility to me.

This is the closest thing to an actual quote in this thread. Assuming this is the gist of it, I see it as an admission by Haith that he is losing the team.

The recruiting part I agree , but asking your players “To Pretty Please’ be motivated to play in tonight’s game is ridiculous. Every player on this level has been playing high level competition for years and it falls on each individual player to reach his highest skill set. To reach that highest standard comes from within and so does that level of play on the court.
TU seems to have a real hard time in recruiting a bonifide shooter that is not hot one game and ice cold the next.

In the end.... it doesn't matter who's responsibility down the food chain that shooting better was.

The buck stops for this basketball program on Haith's desk.
No disagreement there. Recruiting talent is everything and it is Coach Haith’s responsibly.

Guys, I heard the postgame interview. He called players out for playing outside the team concept. I thought that was true. It is not so unusual for a coach to be unhappy with undisciplined play and to call that out publicly.

So much to criticize with Haith but his comment was no big deal.

I'm not calling him out for blaming the players. I'm calling him out for not taking responsibility.

Compare Haith's comments after a bad loss at Cincy to Marshall's after a bad loss at Temple:

“We were outplayed and outcoached,” WSU coach Gregg Marshall said. “(Temple) had a wonderful game plan. They deserved to win, for sure. This was not our best and you have to give them credit. I hope this game doesn’t define our season. We’ve been playing some really good basketball and tonight, for whatever reason, we didn’t. We looked mentally and physically tired and I’ll have to figure out why that is.”

One more chance to ***** & moan about Haith. You just continue to prove he's the worst coach on the planet. Bravo, keep it up. Continue to recycle the same points about him. We all love to hear them.

Oh he's far from the worst. I just though people should know what a good coach is like.

Did he because he and the team kinda seem to me like they're performing
like the walking dead.
You don't beat Houston until you get to at least a trot.....Regardless of
how this team team turns out, it is better than our last two.....Progress is
progress......Count blessings!

Anybody who's watched a zombie movie knows that a random zombie can jump out and bite you at any time.... but usually they're pretty easy to kill.
