all in all, an inconsistent performance from an obviously talented kid receiving his first real reps

I am excited to watch him develop under this staff who clearly like what they have in him

I really liked HH as a frosh, last staff ignored him last year, and I’m not sold he can play at this level, but also won’t doubt he could become serviceable.
That’s a lot of tipped passes, something I think our Defense has struggled with past several years.
The play that haunts me and better haunt him for eternity is 2nd series play 7.
Taking that huge sack despite chance to throw it away was the difference between having potential and not understanding HS JV level skills. Hopefully, it was a one-off moment never to be repeated in any manifestation (meaning no excuse to make JV level mistakes of any kind).

If HH plays significant downs for us this year, our bowl eligibility is at risk (which it might be anyway...who knows in May).

Haarberg may well develop and I hope he does. But personally if our coaching staff does what I think they can do Haarberg shouldn’t probably be taking snaps when the game is in doubt this year.

So basically, if our o-line is able to open holes for our running backs, Haarberg could develop into a game manager. With a designed QB run sprinkled in every once in a while.

I heard Rhule has been begging the McCaffrey kid to come back. He has great potential at the quarterback position and can probably become all pro with the right coaching.

No we’re not haters and losers. That is just your perception..

I want him to succeed as many of us do.. But when will it come to a point that you realize that he isnā€˜t good enough for us being a contender in the conference race..

After he proves that in games that matter, like his competition did

Until then his potential is off the charts and our staff has a knack for developing kids with much less in terms of physical gifts.

Sounds like Purdy to me.
45% at 3 yards/attempt

Purdy is very lucky the wife beater and the fat corpse gifted him a scholarship

Charity case with that arm. There’s a reason he’s listed on the depth chart as ā€œalso on scholarshipā€ 🤣

Imagine comparing this staff to frost/verdusco & actually getting likes?

The many haters & losers are openly telling on themselves in this thread

Hate to see it

Is Luke out of eligibility? I’d take him back as a slot receiver/offensive weapon. Kid should’ve been a realist with dreams not a dreamer. Waste of a football career.

You’re just trolling now.
I was responding to a troll with the simple truth

That comparison is exactly what he was doing with the mccaffrey sentiment

This fact is obvious to all who are not blinded by their own bias against Rhule’s (correct) evaluation of the quarterback room

Our bowl eligibility is at risk regardless of whoever plays any of the 22 starting positions.

If we can figure out the rest of our team, we can still win games with HH at the helm. The Frost coaching staff is done. Copenhagen sales are down 20% in Lincoln.

I like the kid’s potential. But I’m also not going to base anything off of a scrimmage with mixed talent surrounding him. I think we will be fine next year. With the transfer portal there’s really no way to have an experienced back up. It will be an inexperienced, next man up

All I know is no one will win if a 3-man rush can get home to the QB that quickly. Nice step into the pocket and I guess LT might have been lost because of the inside man dropped into coverage but the rb that chipped did not do enough either, c'mon.

Your thoughts on Logan Smothers if he comes back?

I personally believe this staff could make him great!
Nicely done.
I heard if you dont believe in purdy you dont believe in the new staff.

Look Im an HH fan, within reason. Id rather have him on our roster than torres, purdy, or smothers. But this is getting creepy. He did not fire a bullet to a wide open reciever for two. He almost missed him at his feet.
He has ball control issues and made the kind of mistake we’re used to seeing from qbs with the sack, something AM would do and get roasted for.
The tipped passes seem to happen more with him.
He’s not a good thrower.

I look forward to his development. He’s young and raw. I like his running ability. I hope they find a way to use him in some way. Im sure he will improve.

But its obvious kong is just tryin to pick a fight. Next avatar should be william wallace!

I for one am looking forward to which QBs enter the portal in December so we can grab one.
In the meantime I’ll pray Sims stays healthy.

Hope we get a decent HS QB this class.

Rhule takes raw kids and turns them into All-Americans. it's the #1 thing most everyone on this board was excited about when he was hired & when we signed a bunch of track kids this class.

that we have a C-2 local kid from a military family working his way up the depth chart at the most important position without having become a fan favorite is baffling to me and says a lot more about you poopy pants haters/losers than it does about me.

all I want is to win. Rhule clearly thinks Haarberg gives us our best shot behind Sims to do that.

antirowboat, be honest. If CT stays in Lincoln, HH is 3rd string by a mile.

I've watched all his snaps in the spring game that were throws or designed throws, and he has "correctible" throwing mechanics.

His footwork is a killer. He rarely closes and stays closed with his left foot, and he loves to get that right foot high in the air on release.

He would do well to bring that ball to his throwing shoulder on the dropbacks, because he's slow getting it to the launch position and it affects his timing. That way as soon as he plants, he's ready to release the ball. Timing.

Not only would that help him, but it would make him "killer" when dropping back and then handing off to the back.

It's not completely unlike a baseball catcher who brings the glove and ball back with him at the same time in an effort to get rid of the ball quicker, say for example, to throw out a man stealing second base.

the broadcasters mentioned the staff had been working on HH's mechanics, so your observation is noted

as for CT, of course. I still question his health going into this season.

I had some funny interactions with antirowboat - almost as good as thewayitellem

He isn't a fan favorite because everyone is leery of him and he hasn't given a reason to be optimistic. His claim to fame after 2+ seasons is a hit on a rover during a spring practice. If he would have lit up the spring game everyone would be all over him. But he didn't.
