Haarberg is not a good QB. He did not single handedly beat those teams and the competition effects these measures too. To just point at the number and pretend that there’s not tons of factors associated with them is narrow minded. We both know Dylan is a way better QB than Haarberg and the factors surrounding both of those win percentages are deep. I’m not a Dylan apologist, I love Haarberg, but this old argument is silly.

absolute loser post.

the team rallied around HH. his rising tide of toughness lifted all boats.

DR coming here put us in a worse spot than if we'd just stuck with HH and invested in an identity that has proven to work time and again.

In the Iowa game Haarberg fumbled the ball while playing QB going in for a TD when we needed it most.

Haarberg is a lousy QB. He was also a below average tight end. I am so glad he is finally going to be gone so we can put to rest the mythology of “Haarberg the gifted athlete we must find a way to use!”
Every time he came into a game last year or this year to play QB you knew a wasted play was about to happen.

The sad part is hh wasn’t at a different position when he arrived in Lincoln he is a gifted athlete too bad Scott lost didn’t see that but of course we know now Scott didn’t want to be here. HH is no quarterback when he’s in there it’s basically the wildcat, heck under him they should have switched to the single wing like navy but HH didn’t hold up for the season. Wishing him well what ever he chooses to do he seems like a good young man

I was expecting more out of this year, but he was disapointing as a QB and TE - Good kid, but he's a round peg in a square hole for the Huskers this year. Did he ever convert a first down or TD as a QB this year? If so, it was less that 10% of the time.

He didn’t get the benefit of Dana as his OC other than at the end of a game trying to come from behind after an injury to Dylan. I have been consistent. I think he could win games for us at QB. Your perception of him is poisoned by having watched him with questionable coaching.

Neither HH nor Raiola are the answer for our Huskers. But you’re comparing the two based off of their win percentage here knowing full well there’s more to that number than surface level determination. The fact is, Raiola will be sought after by many teams and will likely be in the NFL. HH would be looking at non power conference teams had he gone in the portal. Hes not the better QB. You can say the team rallied around HH but apparently not enough because his win % isn’t pretty either.

This. I can count on 1 hand (honestly 1 finger) the number of passes his receivers actually caught in stride over the past 2 years. He has a tendency to underthrow most deep balls. It’s not an arm strength issue…it’s an accuracy issue.

I'm still trying to figure out how a guy so tough got folded up at the goal line by a damn DB in the Pedo St game lol. Gotta be tougher than THAT? no?

Bowl game is the minimum threshold for a qb. Really low bar in itself. Winning % is nice, but needed a qb who could push us over the edge. Fortunately Raiola came here to do something Haarberg couldn't do in his 3 years at qb.

HH did have a beautiful ball to Coleman for a long TD years ago. However, his play on senior day vs a hated team at home soured my opinion on him. He ran timid and scared. Pathetic for his build.

My perception of him is based on watching him actually play. Your perception is based on some idealized fantasy you have of him in your head. Your perception is not based on empirical observation. Mine is. His actual performance in games has been very underwhelming. That is what any objective observer can see empirically.
He can’t pass worth a crap. He has good straight line speed but runs in an overly upright way like he has a pole shoved up his spine which causes him to drop like a bag of rocks at first contact. He has no “make you miss” about his running. He is a fumble machine. He can’t block. He can’t run routes since he is easily muscled out of his route. He runs out of the wildcat in a manner that telegraphs exactly where he is headed. Shall I go on?

It's crazy how our fans have some fantasy opinion of what HH truly is. He's a very good athlete with straight-line speed (as u said) but a poor QB and judging from last year a poor TE. Your description of his running is super accurate. I was gonna say he runs like a robot.

At some point we "made" HH into this herculean figure that we WANTED him to be. When in actuality he was never that.

Love the kid and his determination and willingness to work and stick it out. But without trying to down him too bad he's not the type of player that's gonna have us competing with the middle of the conference. Let alone the top.
