This goes beyond lack of talent. It makes you question just what exactly the OL was doing from Spring through Fall camp.

Why can’t the other freshmen play? They didn’t have a problem picking Gottula. Let someone else play. There’s other bodies in there. What’s the worse that happens? We give up 10 sacks?
I don’t disagree. I think the thought is sticking with the same group will help build chemistry etc, but I think it’s a hopeless cause so might as well give others a shot and see what they can do.
They can’t be any worse. And at least they will get some experience.

If you thought Gottula was the biggest problem (and, yes, he was a problem), then you weren’t watching Corcoran after he came in … which would have been right after Pritchett likely became the first LT in the history of CFB to be ejected for targeting.
And a lot of those sacks, especially later on after Rocco’s exit, came right up the gut.

It was a ****show. The type of blown assignments were baffling. I get being confused by a stunt or two, but when the guys are just rushing straight at you and you let them go by on the inside to "help" block on the outside, sometimes when no one is even there, that's just hot garbage. Are they just WAYYY overthinking or something?
I've gotten plenty upset with Dylan during game for holding the ball or trying to run away from DL men, but I feel for the guy. You see the other team only rushing 4 or 3 while you have 5-6 guys blocking and you should be able to trust having 3-4 seconds at least for the play to develop.
There's no reasonably way to expect Dylan to be able to do anything when they can drop 7-8 guys and get pressure within 3 seconds or less. There simply won't be any receivers open on quick routes with that type of coverage unless they are stupid and provide a big cushion. After taking 5 sacks in the first half and losing lineman, we should have came out and ran the ball 70% of the time. EJ was doing well on 1st and 2nd down runs.
It did help spindler got hurt , he’s our best lineman the backup was not prepared to play reminds me of Billy c as a coach he would only have two deep the others weren’t prepared. My though is move the center to right guard and let Sam sledge have a go at center.
I also have been critical of Dylan—and of Holgerson for not putting him a better position to succeed.
But, yeah, last night was mostly on the OL. Nine(9) sacks against a team that had zero(0) sacks its last two games? Smgdfh.

As completely and totally hideous as was the pass pro last night, at least the run blocking was damn near every bit as bad.
I’d go more for no Moore award for uncle Donnie
Oline was really bad, but when they weren't, Dylan didnt help any....
We maybe need to see what a freshman can do for a series or two…..Gottula is playing out of position.
Gottula looked better last year. He looks to heavy doesnt move as well as he did.
I didn't watch the PC. Did anyone ask Rhule why his O line sucks so bad?
Omg. I forgot about that. Too funny. Is there an award for being the worst O-line in all of College Football? If so, I'm sure we would be in the top 5 to win it. How in the **** are these kids ever going to get better? Huh? How? Im serious.. The O-line coach should be fired immediately.
What was he supposed to do? Couldn’t step up. Had no leverage to spin outside, especially with his speed. And I suspect the 8 in coverage had our receivers blanketed.
Gottula and Corcoran are terrible.
Ok... that play is so bad on so many levels.
1. Corcoran literally may not have even touched the guy
2. The guards literally did nothing on that play
3. Dylan needs to learn how to step "into" the pocket. Again he has ZERO pocket presence awareness. How in the hell does he not know to step forward there.
That was the worst effort I have seen... that offensive line was hideous and Dylan's pocket awareness is literally one of the worst I have EVER seen
Yep. Pretty ridiculous that Dylan wouldn't step up into the pocket there. That's making it way too easy for the opposing defensive coordinator. They must have been laughing in their press box.
If it were that easy, every defense in the nation would just line up two guys in the 9 gap like they did there and let them run around the side.
Are you serious? Dylan should have stepped up into the pocket and bought some time. Hell, our two offensive guards didn't even have anyone to block. I think they had a pocket for him to step up into.
And a QB should never spin outside even though some guys get away with doing it.
I'll repeat what I've been saying for weeks - the OL issues isn't talent in my eyes. I see mental and technique issues, like they literally don't know who to block repeatedly. The tackles are getting bullrushed right to the QB with almost no resistance - poor technique. It's bad coaching, period.
