This was not an upset. Rutgers is way better than Purdue anywhere but Mackey and now better at Mackey.Purdue is not beating a team with 2 veteran 6-7 guards and a legit big. Not happening. I only fear Ohio State and Michigan State.No one else. Maryland is in for a huge hurt sandwich.

Agreed. We were the better team and if not for the foul disparity, we win going away (and yes, we fouled more than they did, as we're physical/aggressive, but not 24-11 worth of more fouls).
I think our stretch of 2-12 shooting in second half was a bigger factor. Blaming refs is too easy. If we make our shots this game isn't a nail biter.
But man it feels great not to feel overmatched by anyone
Since RU72 mentioned them specifically, I have a feeling that when OSU comes into the RAC/JMA on 1/15, they're going to be in for, how can I put this gently, an extremely "intense" experience. -Not just referring to the game RU will throw at them defensively and offensively, but the crowd is going to be like a pack of rabid dogs remembering how we had a "W" stolen from us, (literally), when we played them at their place.
Hey, anything can happen during a game in the B1G, but one thing I do know for sure is that the Bucks better have their sneakers laced up tight that night 'cause we're gonna be on 'em, (both team and fans), like white on rice.
And clearly, when we're locked in and playing Rutgers basketball, we can play with...AND BEAT...anyone in the country.

The crowd has to show up Thursday from the opening tip. I think they will after tonight and won't let the team have a letdown loss.
I was shocked when I saw this Purdue team play today. Not sure how they are ranked #1 or how those 2 little guards are scoring points against real defense.
We will definitely going to have a let down. Maryland just got smoked in their worst loss since they entered the Big 10. They will be coming in guns blazing. We will be coming off beating #1 and everyone telling them how good they are. Plus a short prep and quick turnaround which is usually tough for us. The toughness and resiliency of this team and our defense and RAC crowd will have to get us over the top. But if we get it , setting up great for the next 3 culminating in the payback of Ohio State.
Listen. Edey is huge. But he deferred on 2 key opportunities at the end. The team is charmin soft. Rutgers is just Tough. The only 2 other tough teams,as I said are Ohio State and Michigan State. And out of conference,Houston. I don't get the love for Painter. He is a great guy but his game plan today wasn't as bad as St Peter's,but pretty bad. He showed no recognition of what Paul was predictibly going to do in the paint. Weird to me.
agree...I think this game is the toughest of the next 4 actually. Ohio State obviously is a top 3 team in league I just think we are better situated mentally for that game.
