This is why we are not living up to expectations, in a nutshell. Looking over the stats, Fernandes and Simpson averaging 2 and change assists EACH and single digit points (8-9 points each). Compare those stats to Paul and Cam and it's apples and oranges. While Cliff has also been disappointing, don't get me wrong (poor FT shooting, foul trouble, games with no boards), the atrocious play by our guards is why we look like a bottom barrel Big Ten team. Finally, as a late *5 recruit, Gavin needs to start contributing more on both ends soon.

Obviously cam and Paul leaving put us in a huge hole. The front court isn’t much better save cliff but the backcourt is a big problem particularly if jmike can’t go.

And this is against mostly weak teams. Not going to see that anymore come next week. Kudos to Simpson for hitting game winning shot against Stonehill to not embarass Rutgers in national headlines, but geez.

Yes it certainly did. It’s old news but how RU allowed that is the one reason we right now are not a good or fairly decent club.

The half court offense against a zone defense is abysmal. There should be a player inside the foul line who can make a short jump shot or pass to the corners for open 3 pointers.Rutgers half court offense is play ground basketball without talented players that can create and make shots off the dribble.Equally alarming is that Stone Hill was out rebounding Rutgers for most of the game. The easy part of the schedule is over and with a woeful offense ,wins are going to be hard to achieve against league competition.

Last year, before he was hurt, Mag played the high post a lot.

Granted I only watched the second half but either mag Hyatt or Gavin were playing that role in the middle of the zone on virtually every possession

Please explain how Gavin can contribute more when we have guards who don't pass or care about assists.

Pike sits players who don't play defense; it's time to sit the guards who just care about their shot.
