I don’t believe Lincoln Riley will be able to get a top DC . All the Athletes that are recruited Riley wants on offense.
I bet they grab a guy from the NFL.
It is not like they need a stud recruiter.
Good lord...could you imagine him trying to coach D on a team that plays fast, doesn't eat clock and doesn't punt from the other teams 35 on 4th and 1???
I still don't totally get why he left OU for USC unless the money was that big of a difference but still, but the cost of living would pretty much negate a lot of it.

There supposedly were multiple millions of dollars of side benefits in addition to the salary.

That said, I've seen a few articles about potential replacements and his name was nowhere to be found.
Biggest names were Leonhard, Muschamp, Aranda (assuming he's fired), Gary Patterson and Trent Bray. Klanderman from KSU also mentioned and would bring some toughness if they could pry him away.
I dunno but it could be that he didn't want to be in the SEC. I think he figured the PAC was an easier path to a National Championship.

Trev needs to offer Tony $2 mil in the morning. He's the best the Huskers have had since McBride. Mostly like the best assistant period in that time. I think the Huskers have to show they are serious.
Satterfield probably won’t like being passed by White. Do you make them equal in salary?
You guys drive me crazy. 1. Is there any interest Satterfield from another school? 2. Has Satterfield performed as well as White?
Similar houses he would want are probably 3 times as much in LA as they are in Lincoln. I think he has young kids. Rhule has an 8 year deal. I actually think he would have more stability and a better lifestyle in Lincoln at a much smaller salary. I don’t see him going anywhere.
Used to laugh at the house flipping shows in California. Where 500k gets you a one bedroom one bath 900 sq foot house. And the buyers were like "What a great deal!!" RollingLaugh
I would consider Leonhard and maybe Bray. Patterson is probably a very smart DC, but Holy cow is he eccentric. I don't think he would play well at USC. Muschamp is one of those coaches that plays the role of a coach. All hat and no cattle. Aranda just might be a little too cerebral to be a football coach. I know nothing when it comes to Klanderman.
As I posted earlier Riley gives two ***** about D . I don’t think a big timer will go there.
One of many reasons the intelligent ones left in that state are leaving in droves.
