I'm not sure why it would be the ultimate matchup. Nevertheless, Weddington takes this one. It really depends on who got the best collection of transfers.
The QB has been great, but the real X factor was the RB Summers. How is the running game with him gone?
Running back has been two-headed with Senior Micah Williams and Soph Ty Shumake running behind a big ad experienced O-Line. Summers is irreplaceable. He went over a 1000 yds rushing for Sacred Heart, his only D-1 offer. Frosh QB Brody Lowe played well in 9 regular season starts for Whirlies. Faizon back and looking super with a bevy of talented receivers. Whirlie defense not huge but aggressive aggressive ball hawks cause lots of TOs anf TFLs. Special teams solid. Excellent depth. Two of the top four teams in the state in action this Friday at Jamieson Stadium.
I like Grimsley for the 3rd straight year.....ABC Club....Anybody but Charlotte. Go Triad Area

Well, I'm pulling for the only Union County team remaining so I hope Weddington can get the win. Definitely going to be a tough one but Weddington is very talented. I know Grimsley is just as talented so it should be a good one. Since the Myers Park loss Weddington has been on a roll. I believe that loss lit a fire under that team.

Thought it would be. Weddingtons defense is elite. The offense is not.
Since the quick 3-0 early 1st it’s been back n forth with punts. Grimsley still up 3-0 in 2nd.

The fact that weddington has to roll out their starting lb in wildcat to get something going isn’t a good sign for the warriors.
