Ah damn it. I've always admired people who are great at whatever they do and he was one the best. GBR

Condolences to his family. Not surprised by this. Earlier he was presented with an award and it looked like he'd won many battles but was losing the war unfortunately. It'll be sad that he won't be able to CALL the resurgence of Husker football

Always loved the fact that Sharpe knew the broadcast wasn't about him. He was just there to bring the game to the audience without showboating or getting in the way.

Sportscasting needs more like him.

May your soul rest in peace and may God wrap his arms around your family/friends.

I remember listening to Greg back when he would host a sports talk radio show out of Topeka on 580 am.

Just a solemn reminder of how short and precious life is on this earth. Live that life with dignity and honor. He was one of the greats at what he did and he brought joy and smiles to listeners. Blessings to his family through all of this.

Awful news!
I'm the guy that never knows who the play by play person is, no favorite podcast, couldn't care less about ESPN hot takes....
But for some reason Greg was the only person that stuck out to me as someone I really valued their sports opinion on.

Rest in peace Greg, My condolences to his family, I remember years ago he was on a sports talk show on WIBW in Kansas I enjoyed listening to it for a different perspective, he also did play by play for Kst and he was good, next thing I know he replaces Jim rose (thank goodness) and he’s been great at Nebraska since. He will be hard to replace

Prayers to the Sharpe family. Cancer sure has been acting quickly these days and it takes another good one. Saw it up close recently too. Not good

Horrible. **** cancer man. Humans stress and argue about the wrong ****. Life is fleeting. What matters and reasons for humbleness are played out right in front of us in real time….still doesn’t change humanity.

Greg is the voice of Nebraska, period. Nobody else can fill his shoes.

We lost a legend today. He went down slugging as hard as he could!!

I love you Greg.

This is such sad news. What a class act Greg Sharpe was. What a tough road that gentleman must have had over these past several months.
