Just saw another lawsuit for default by the Greenbrier. I hope he sells that thing soon before he really screws a bunch of people down in that area as it holds a special place in my heart. What a damn shame. I love that area of the state and someone could run that place better and make it a hell of a vacation spot. He needs to pull a Biden and just let that doofus from the EP run for senate. What an embarrassment he is. I would hate to be the guy who does his accounting work. Shew......

This is why he is running for Senate. He can sell votes to pay back debts.

Funny what happens when you think someone is a genius with great decision making skills simply because they’re wealthy.
Guy has always had the golden touch. Things went sideways when he turned things over to his kids and put some of the wrong people in charge to assist them.

Guarantee things would be a lot different if he hadn't run for Governor.

I’m old enough to remember when WV sent a serious delegation of politicians to DC. Capito aside, it’s a clown show now.

Serious people don't want to be a part of the clown show in Washington DC.

Why take the bashing to play games that produce zero results?

Ive never been a fan of term limits but I am getting there

Could the State have done better at the nomination. Maybe? But that's who they chose. I give a alternative view on the subject on the Off Topic Board. Being the economy has been rough on alot of people since Covid-19.

Also not sure I would brag about Rockefeller or Byrd either.

Stay on topic about the Greenbrier or this thread heads to the OT board.

Can he even file an injunction to stop the auction at this point? I read the details of the loan and justice agreed to not sue in it and signed it. There is a no lawsuit clause. I wonder if there is anyway he could talk the McCormick collection agency into not having the fire sale so they don’t give it away for Pennie’s on the dollar and give him some time to try and sell it to like an Omni or Marriott or something? They’re also going to just get the building whoever buys it. That doesn’t include the golf courses and parking lots etc. so if someone does buy the hotel on the court house steps the justices will still own the lots and golf courses and tennis stuff and ****. And I could see them being butthurt and not letting them have it all. Jay is a real nut. I really think they’re fd. He sold those mines for $500 million in cash like 13 years ago or something. How do ya fck that up so fast? Shew

On top of not remitting sales tax, The Greenbrier hasn't paid it's 2023 property taxes per the county sheriff totaling $2.2M. They're also delinquent on the employees health insurance fund which is set to get axed next week unless they come up with at least $2.4M outstanding. Apparently they were deducting the payroll costs but not remitting it.

The whole situation is really sad. What a mess the new owners will have to deal with.

The Greenbrier will land on its feet and likely be bought by a better organization. The real embarrassment is the State is apprarently ready to vote Justice in as a US Senator.

WTF people??!!!

I wonder if he made any overtures to the Saudi's when LIV was in town to take it off his hands?

Deducting payroll for insurance and not remitting it is a federal crime right? None of this is good and the only people that will end up screwed out of this is the people that work there. Justice will still have more money than almost anyone in the state and no matter what happens would likely never face charges outside of fines.

If you really look into the details he isn’t going to have much left. I mean he owes that carter bank $300 million. $50 million here. $40 million there. $35 million over there. I don’t see how he has much left when it’s done. It is nuts.

And yeah it’s a federal crime.

They would be crazy to buy the stock of the company. They will just buy the assets so they do not have to deal with all of that.

Alternative view on the Off Topic Board. Because I'm considerate like that. I encourage people to come read it. Being alot of us can afford to golf these days due to inflation and everything costing more.

Hoppy's commentary this morning calls on Justice to sell. They really made an enemy when they froze Metronews out of the press briefings.

Brad M for Metronews has been going after Jim for years ---- I think he worked for the Charleston paper before Metronews --- and given the leanings of Raese I am stunned they even hired him in the first place. Like Jim or hate him --- I do think Brad has some personal issues with the Justice family.... I think I noted this before but I PM'd Brad on Twitter during the Pandemic and he confused me with someone in the Justice circle (I don't use my name for my Twitter handle) and I got this weird series of PM's back accusing me of being some guy (who I am not) and I knew what was going on etc.... So I don't blame Justice for not talking to Metronews as long as Brad is the reporter.... cause that guy seems to have some personal beef with the family (even if his reporting is accurate).

I don’t agree with that he is pretty mild really. Only one that has any balls.

I erased the PM chain I had with him (I initially pinged him because he had something inaccurate about how Barbour Co was reporting info to the State during the Pandemic) and if you saw how he came after me thinking I somehow worked for Justice or was connected to the family you'd have seen he was unhinged..... I kept telling him I was not who he thought I was and he wouldn't believe me. It was pretty whacky stuff from a member of the media.... (again whether you like Justice or don't)
