Iowa could win the natty and you’d still find something to ***** about.
Lol, sure boss.
Look if you think this was “great win”, with 2 top 15s coming to town, I don’t know what to tell you.

Listen to Ben and you can never go wrong understanding what you just watched. He said Northwestern did a really good job mixing things up and not letting us get into our sets early. We will also didn't play particularly well. Bennnet started to come on and he complimented that the other guys stayed in their roles and at this level you don't often see that. Other guys want to shine even when you have a great player like Stirtz. And he said this is the Big Ten. You won't always win by 40.

I just think we need a few more offensive sets for someone behind BS. Also Early in the game our guys looked so tentative on offense. They would drive halfway to the hole and stop. It was an awkward offense. Love these guys but beyond Bennett they need to step up and believe in themselves. Hell…I do!
THIS......they looked REAL unsure of themselves early in the game. They would start a drive and pull up for an awkward looking shot. Not sure what was going on but it seemed contagious. They just looked real uncomfortable.

Are they? Kenpom and Barttorvik say NW is better.
Current NET rankings:

Northwestern 79
Oregon. 111

A win is a win. How many times as an Iowa fan do we lose one of these games we SHOULD win? Good teams win ugly games. Are we a good team? I think we might be. We will be measured these last few weeks and probably how we perform in the tourney. If we could somehow find our way to a sweet 16 Ben will be a legend. Until this fall when we have to rebuild our roster and the pitchforks come out. :)

A 2 win B10 team that we blew another big lead against on our home floor. I wish I shared your optimism.
We used to never win games if we played that poorly. This year we've won several games not playing well. They definitely need to clean it up though and play better if they want to make a run but it's still a great season so far.

Agreed 100%. I love this team, I am a well documented McCollum loyalist--probably to a fault. I love the direction we're headed. We however, have seen several lackluster home performances. This was the type of game you want to see progress in that area, along with keeping a lead...especially with Purdue and Nebraska coming to town. This is all on top of the fact that the staff is big game hunting on the recruiting trail. We have to have a high quality and exciting product to sell if we're going to consistently beat out top shelf programs for the two hardest positions to recruit: guard and center.

I am just starting to watch Iowa games in full. Does Banks have a good 3 pt shot?
He has improved it a ton. But still isn't considered a shooter by any means.

He's been making them, basically because he makes winning plays. But played much of last season at center and attempted very few 3's.

Iowa basketball has been around for many, many decades, btw

Some guys really need to work on their 3 point shot this off-season IMO. Players like Howard and Combs come to mind. They've made a few but are not very consistent.

Koch needs to become more consistent from deep also (I think he will). He's at 39% from three, but I believe he's capable of a higher number.

Edit: Combs also at 39% but seems like he's been a little cold lately.

In conference play Combs and Sage have both been excellent 3 point shooters at 44% and Banks has shot 47%. Koch shoots the 2nd highest number of 3's on the team and is at 33% along with Hausen. I will say that he, along with Alvaro seem to miss more wide open 3's than everyone else combined. Folgueiras shoots the third highest number of 3's on the team, but he and Howard also have the worst percentages at .270 and .250 respectively.

Net, net, we want Banks, Sage, and Combs shooting a greater percentage of the total 3 point shots going forward as opposed to Koch and Alvaro who shoot a lot of them but at a much lower percentage than the others.

This team is gritty. I'll take any win with a year 1 coach playing mostly low D1 guys and new transfers
I was thinking about this the other day. Seeing as how this is basically Drake's team from last year, they're likely undefeated right now (possibly the entire season) had BM stayed in the Valley. Drake fans would be dreaming of big things right now.

I agree on Sage, Combs, and Banks shooting a few more 3s. But shooting percentages are a funny thing. You start hunting shots and that percentage very likely goes down.

I believe Ben has even mentioned this with Banks. His percentage has improved due to his off-season work on his shot AND his shot selection.

I agree that often higher volume doesn't reflect the same high percentages. What I have noticed frequently however is these 3 players, but particularly Banks, forgoing a wide open 3 when it presents itself. I don't know if that's how they're being coached in order to extend the shot clock and control pace or players being overly deferential to Stirtz when he is on the floor. It's hard for me to imagine that BM doesn't want good shooters to take open 3's.

Banks has one of the best 3 point percentages in the country at 50%. He needs to shoot more of them.
Yes, look to shoot. And I would love to see him back next year. He just seems to bring a lot of energy and even good vibes to the team

Doubled down and got nailed? Sure thing, Columbo. I'm having a great time living rent free. You're the one that got so worked up over a stranger on the internet calling your integrity into question that you posted screenshots.
Did I stutter? I nailed your a$$ in a lie and you can't handle it. You've proven yourself to be a complete dipsh!t many times over, no reason to believe you'd stop digging on this one, either.

A lie? I made a joke, and you didn't get it. That's fine, but I can't make you smart enough to understand why you're still wrong.
