Had an amazing visit Saturday by Rutgers student athletes to the Saturdays in Motion program for kids with autism. We had football players, men's basketball players, field hockey players, women's golfers and a great wrestler. Coach Pikiell from bball, and Coaches Q and Parker from football were also in the house. What awesome ambassadors for the university, the athletic department and the different teams! The coaches could not have been more friendly or approachable, and the student athletes were outstanding in all respects. Linked below are tons of pics from the fantastic event, all taken by Michael Raynes:

Thank you for sharing this, @hound77.

As @MrsScrew said something similar above...wouldn’t be surprised if some of our Scarlet Knights got more out of it than your kids.

Always great to see and hear about things like this. Both Rutgers and NJ and metro NJ/NY and Phila media and papers need to comment and make the public more aware of excellent happenings like this.

My kids volunteered for Saturday’s in Motion throughout their high school years. What a terrific program! I’m glad to see Rutgers continues to support it. Arthur Raynes deserves tremendous credit for starting and then spearheading the program for many, many years.

You can tell from the photos how much some of the RU athletes (and the kids!) are enjoying themselves.

Travis and Nick really stand out, especially Travis.
Will be rooting hard for those guys.
Seem like really great people.

I don't know who was at this event but I do know that ALL of the football players participate in Service Knight events throughout the year and they keep track of the hours on a chart in the locker room. I would guess that the other sports do something similar. At the awards banquet awards are given for the male and female athlete with the most hours as well as to the sport with the most hours.

A true labor of love by the entire Raynes family & the youth of the local Y for 26 years and counting !
