Thank you guys, that means a lot to me. Obviously this has been the most difficult time of my life as my daughter defeating her addiction was the focus of most of my attention each and every day. My life will never be the same but hopefully time will ease some of the pain.
Many of you are very special to me and I hope to enjoy the board again soon.

So sorry to hear about daughter gotta. Lost my best friend to depression and opiate addiction this week. It’s a really tough time for a lot of people who are 18-45, as addiction has ravished so many loved ones and it effects every socioeconomic group. My prayers are with you and your family.
Hope each day gets a little better gotta. Bmbritt, sorry for your loss as well.
I am sorry for the loss of your best friend bmbritt. There is simply no explanation or reasoning for the loss of our loved ones. Our lives will be forever changed and that makes me very angry also.
It does change you forever and can take you down some dark paths, but can also show you how much love that others had for your daughter or a best friend. Find comfort in that gotta. Also, here is a quote that brought my friends dad some peace:
"I got good news and bad news. Bad news is you'll never be the same. You'll never be whole. Ever. What was taken from you can't be replaced. You're daughter's gone. Now the good news, as soon as you accept that, as soon as you let yourself suffer, allow yourself to grieve, You'll be able to visit her in your mind, and remember all the joy she gave you. All the love she knew. Right now, you don't even have that, do you?" He said, "that's what not accepting this will rob from you". If you shy from the pain of it, then you rob yourself of every memory of her, my friend. Every one. From her first step to her last smile. You'll kill 'em all. Take the pain.”

gottagonow, I'm so sorry to hear of your loss, there are just no words that can take away the pain. They say that time heals all things, so this and faith are all we have to fall back on.
I wish there was something that I could say or do to ease your sorrow, I would gladly do it for you. For what it is worth, just remember that everything is done for a reason, we just don't always understand what that reason is.
Please try to be strong for not only yourself, but your family also. My thoughts are with you, so take care and God Bless!
