And so will the Cotton Bowl opponent.

Navy better freaking get it done. WMU will make Hawaii's 2008 Sugar Bowl loss look close.

Eh they are only like 2 spots apart and WMU barely survived. I think a touchdown win over a quality quality Temple team and an Army win of any sort should do it.

WMU in a the cotton bowl is frankly a disaster for G5.

Any team that goes undefeated against FBS competition deserves respect and congratulations.

But this system is built for a committee to pick what they perceive to be the best teams.

They need to consider SOS and performance. Navy is a good. So far I think they are better. Pick the best G5 team.

Well maybe I exaggerated a little, but a one td win doesn't make it safe imo. 17 pt win or better would make me confident if I were Navy.

Of course they deserve respect and congratulations!

Boise had to go undefeated like 37 years in a row to earn a rightful shot.

In 2016, it's imperative that the BEST team of the G5 faces off in the NY6. A weak undefeated team getting crushed by the "big boys" hurts us all.

The status quo would love to go ahead and see WMU in the Cotton.

Plus there are big $$ attached to this decision. They champ that played the best CONSIDERING THE LEVEL OF THEIR COMPETITORS should get the bid.

This is not to punish WMU players, but to promote fairness. Programs in the AAC invest a lot more money to insure teams play at a high level. They should not be punished for being highly competitive across the board.

I'm pulling hard for Navy to get the Cotton Bowl, so Tulsa's conference gets the respect & the big bowl $$.

However, WMU is not your normal MAC team. PJ Fleck has recruited way, way over MAC level for the last couple years & they have much more talent than you'd expect. They signed several players with multiple P5 offers each year. Fleck will be earning big $ at a big school next fall.

I still think Navy would represent the G5 better, but I think WMU has a very good team this year.

Navy should play Oklahoma or Oklahoma St in the Cotton Bowl. I think we should go to the Liberty Bowl to play Boise State or Arkansas

Is the board's startling disregard for the Mid-American conference based on our GMAC bowl victories a decade ago? You do realize that the 2nd place team in the MAC last year beat the 2nd place team in AAC in a bowl game, right? The top teams in their conference consistently beat the middle of the Big 10 and earlier this year a team that went 3-5 in the MAC beat the 2nd best team in the Big 12.

Oh and the last time we played a MAC team. They beat our ***.

No such disdain. Just observing.

I thought NIU was very good a few years ago. WMU is pretty good this year too.

I was very unimpressed with Ohio's qb play. And I think we could move the ball on their D.
