Lannister army about to be roasted dragon-style. Jamie in big danger on that battlefield; Lady Olenna may have foreshadowed his death (will miss her sharp wit). Dany and Cersei's armies will essentially come to a standoff, as both will have some victories and some losses. Something major has to occur to shock the two of them into listening to Jon Snow's warnings about the danger from the Night King, such that Jon Snow, Dany and Cersei somehow reach an accord and band together to fight the Night King. I'm guessing that Jon Snow goes north of the Wall with Baric Denderon (sp.) and The Hound, kidnaps a wight, Baric is killed, The Hound picks up his flaming sword and saves Jon, and Jon brings the wight back to show Dany and Cersei. Intrigued, they journey north to the Wall, and as they arrive, the Wall collapses, as the season-ending cliffhanger.
Somewhere in there, Jon Snow's parentage is revealed and he has to deal with the ripples from that disclosure. Tyrion may end up as a Targeryn. Arya is a wildcard, moving things along as a faceless assasin (bye Weasel Littlefinger and Red Priestess). Gendry has to show up, too, and play out his role as a possible heir to the throne. Jorah Mermont returns to Khalessi. Qyburn gets executed by some of Varys' still-loyal "little birds". Sam turns out to be the one recording the history of all of this (remember when he told his tutor he needs a more poetic title for the history he's writing of Westeros?). Damn, a lot to wrap up before the end of the series. They've already abandoned time as a constraint on the characters' travels, hope they can finish the series in a believable fashion. It's been fantastic so far.
