Defense was really not all that good. And our 3 pointer defense was putrid against a bad team.

The only game our 3 point defense was good all year was the Purdue game its all about effort; I watched one play where Geo just stood 5 feet away from his man and watched him shoot and then made a face like OMG he made it
Nice win. Paul looked good and hopefully won't be as shy shooting his shot. Cliff also hit some jumpers which will also give him more confidence. I saw Jones hustling back on defense too, which he needed to start doing. Everyone else had good games, especially considering the time off and no practices. Interesting that Oskar was first off the bench to spell Cliff. Wonder what coach's reasoning was for that.

Always nice to win but beating Maine by 16 is sort of like not dying in a car accident when I go out shopping. Not so much a positive as just avoidance of a catastrophe.

Reiber came in also for Cliff (not sure if it was before or after Oscar) and was just dreadful on both ends looked slower than usual.
As mentioned in another thread, the Maine center who was a portal transfer would have been a great pickup for us.
You play every game against every team as hard as you can so that it becomes how you play. You never take games off.
Problem is the three point defense is a continuing issue. It’s maddening how we make inferior teams look like sharpshooters out there.

It’s a shame. He lacks Achilles talent and isn’t girthy but he does have nice skills on offense. Guys like him do well in the Patriot League.
I saw him make one nice turnaround jumper last year. Other than that, I haven’t seen any “nice skills.”
He had a nice slam dunk vs Lehigh in the opener. I think Reibers problem is that he plays soft and doesn’t hit the boards strong on both ends. He’s a lower conference type of player.
