. . . make good teams. Virtually every Big 10 team has at least 2 of them, but RU does not have a single one. Today in Iowa, before the walk-ons came in, Iowa was shooting 14-17 (82%) from 3-point range. I don't think RU could do that unguarded in an open-gym shooting drill. Iowa has 4 guys with 3-point shooting %'s higher than any player on RU, including a freshman who went 6-6 from 3 today and who is shooting higher than 40% from 3 for the year. Argue all you want, but Pike needs to spend the last scholarship for next year on a sharpshooter.

I watched the Iowa game and it was like playing a game of horse where players take uncontested shots around the 3 point line.Iowa makes 3 pointers at such a high percentage that scoring more than 80 points in a game becomes a regular occurrence especially at home. The 3 point shot has changed how basketball games are played and teams that lack shooters will have great difficulty winning games.

lets note Iowa was terrible last year and now ranked. We can talk about defense all we want and that Iowa doesnt play it but the you are not going to move up in this league without putting the ball in the hoop, thats what its about

I’m not arguing with this at all.

You do need to defend, but in the end, you need more points on the scoreboard. When your opponent can hit the dagger and you can’t, it’s deflating.

Agreed! Great shooting hides a lot of flaws.
