Evidently they haven’t seen him try to block yet, all aside I hope he makes the roster
Great point. They haven't seen him in pads. But what a story it would be if he were to make it and have a long career. He's in a great spot with the Giants. They have an emerging TE stud in Theo Johnson, but not much after that. If Fidone could settle in behind Johnson for his first couple seasons that would be ideal.

I've always liked Fidone as a receiving TE. He ran awkward in the braces but half the TE's out there look awkward running. If he dedicates more to blocking, he could be a good one.

He never got to an elite level of play at NU, but he is apparently turning heads in NY.

Brian Daboll is an interesting coach for Fidone to be under. Most signs point to Brian not having TE receiving be a big part of the offensive game plan. The G-Men have a great History of TE usage with Shockey, Engram, and going back with guys Bavaro. But since Dabolls been in NY the TE use hasn’t been great. Granted not much on the offense really has been. But going back to his days at Buffalo or even Bama, he didn’t feature TE. Mostly blocking was the game plan.
However the argument is he coached the GOAT Gronk. Hope Thomas gets a chance to be a playmaker, I don’t think he’s built to have his hands in the dirt most of the time

Have you ever tried to make an athletic move in a knee brace? It’s almost impossible. I wore one for about 3 basketball games for a 75% torn ACL. I got rid of it. Couldn’t cut or jump worth a damn in it. I thought it did more harm than good. I have no idea how some RBs play with one.

He still has to make the team.
Not certain that he will make initial 53. He would be the 4th TE. I am sure they would like him on the practice squad and call him up at some point. Would another team steal him off the practice squad to add to their 53?
