Bird Ball
21-9 overall, 8-4 in ACC play, RPI 26, SOS 67, and 4-2 in Quad 1 games. They’ve won 10 of 11 entering the weekend, including a sweep of Cal and a series win over UVA. Plethora of lefty arms is enough for us to know that this will be a dog-fight.

- BC has just 25 home runs as a team, and Nick Wang (11 HR) is the only Eagle with more than 3. Four of his 11 have come in ACC play.
- BC’s offense is built more on pressure and movement than pure slug. The Eagles have 65 stolen bases with only 12 caught stealing — more than double UNC’s 30 steals. Their 25 stolen base attempts in ACC play rank second in the league.
- Beyond Wang, Solier (.379 AVG) and Mainolfi (11 doubles) are the main names that stand out offensively.
- Big contrast defensively: BC has 34 team errors compared to UNC’s 18.
- In ACC play, BC has committed 16 errors, last in the league, while UNC is first with just 6 errors in 12 conference games.
- BC shortstop Solier has 8 errors on his own.
- The strength of this team is the pitching staff, especially from the left side.
- BC leads the ACC in league-play ERA (3.28) and is holding opponents to a .251 batting average.
- Thursday – AJ Colarusso (LHP, 6’0”). Went 6.1 IP, 5 H, 3 ER vs. UNC last year.
- Friday – Tyler Mudd (LHP, 5’9”). Went 4.1 IP, 1 H, 1 ER vs. UNC last year.
- Saturday – Brady Miller (LHP, 6’5”). Has allowed just 2 ER in 22 IP, with a .137 OBA and 0.73 WHIP. His pitch counts show he’s settling in and stretching out: 28 / 53 / 54 / 91 / 94. Last weekend vs. Virginia: 7 IP, 2 H, 9 K, 0 R. Best arm right now but I don't expect them to alter rotation on a short week.
- Kwiatkowski (LHP, 6’6”) – 11 appearances, no runs allowed in 5 ACC outings
- Kipp (RHP, 6’2”) – 3 saves, 8 appearances
- Burnham (LHP, 6’0”) – 9 appearances, 3 starts
