Waters had those 2 dip years and Pike got to the ncaa 2x would have been 3 but they are not as far apart as one one thing they are. Waters problem was the team couldnt win away from the RAC

Pikes peak years still better than Waters but remember its a case of barely making the ncaa tourney. Not one year was it emphatic

Yes they are far apart . Pike would have made 3 ncaa tournaments (counting 2020) and had us on the wrong side of the bubble 1 other time . Waters never had us on the bubble on Selection Sunday.

Waters also took over a program that was stronger at the time . Rutgers made the NIT In 1999 and 2000 . Waters was hired in 2001. Pike took over after Eddie Jordan .

Both have stunk In the conference tournament.
