I'm hesitant to post this, but I had a very fortunate and unbelievable year in attending college and pro sporting events in 2017. I wanted to share what I attended, and invite others to share their events as well. So here goes. I attended 93 college and pro games this year, broken down as follows....
36 major league baseball-- all St Louis Cardinals-- 33 in Busch and 3 in Colorado
11 NCAA football-- 7 NU home games, 3 away (Oregon, Minn and Ill.) and the Oregon-State Minnesota game in Corvalis immediately after the Husker game in Eugune
15 NCAA basketball-- 13 NU and the Michigan State-Duke and Kansas-Kentucky games in Chicago
12 NCAA womens basketball-- all Huskers
14 NCAA volleyball-- all Huskers including both final four matches
2 NHL- Blues/Avalanche in St. Louis and Blackhawks/Devils in Chicago
2 NFL- both Packers-Bears contests, a big bucket list item
1 NBA- Bucks and Grizzlies in Milwaukee
Highlights-- seeing the volleyball team win a national title was amazing. My 3rd time in person.
Seeing Jerry Kramer in Green Bay and Dick Butkus at the NU-Illinois game. Many same day doubleheaders, including......
Packers-Bears and Blackhawks-Devils in Chicago
the aforementioned NU and Oregon State doubleheader in Oregon
2- same day NU football and volleyball games
Cardinals-Reds and Blues-Avalanche games in St. Louis
2 weekend favorites-- Packers/Bears in Chicago on Thursday, Huskers in Illinois on Friday, and Cards/Brewers in St. Louis on Saturday and Sunday.
Ultimate weekend with my oldest son was NU at Minnesota on Saturday (game sucked though), Packers-Bears and Blackhawks-Devils on Sunday, Bucks-Grizzlies on Monday, and Mich State-Duke and KU-Kentucky of Tuesday.
There you have it. Lots of free places to stay on several trips, and just a lot of fortunate timing this year with work and personal stuff. Thanks for reading.
