We stay in Clewiston, south end of Lake Okeechobee, and drive south each day about 45 mins. You catch bream, Oscar, Mayans and we caught some fish this year I couldn't identify. No limits on the exotics and they are as good eating as crappie. I take my old man and we quit everyday at 2PM or 200 fish, whichever comes first. We always go in early April before it is too hot. Between our group each day we take about 500-600 fish per day to Juan. Juan cleans our fish and if Juan wasn't there then I wouldn't go each year.

As a kid at deer camp, I ate way too much Vienna sausage and Dinty Moore Beef Stew. In a legit starve or eat it scenario, I'd eat it again, but not under any other circumstances.

I have been to Popeye's 1.7 million times and never gotten the red beans and rice. I always got the dirty rice or cajun mashed potatoes. I will be procuring said red beans and rice on my next trip to see what the fuss is all about.
Fish steaks in Louisiana hot sauce, starkist lemon pepper tuna creations garnished with sriracha, all on top of ritz crackers (the store Near where I evacuated to was out of saltines). with a side of baked flavored beanee weenees with a Louisiana hot sauce floater.

It's just the two of us and I am still off the foot as much as I can so it will be hamburgers, fries in the Fry Dady, with an assortment of raw veg and cocktail sausages to eat our homemade dips.

What you catch them on? Bet they’d take a fly. That would be fun. They fight ok?
They average about 1lb and fight like a 5lb bass. I break 2-3 heavy duty fiberglass slab slayers each year if that helps describe how much they fight. If you look at the pics I posted you'll notice that I'm using #2 stainless offshore hooks because they will bend or straighten basic freshwater hooks.
We use crickets but they will literally hit a bare hook and they hit as fast as you can put your hook in the water. Some of the guys we go with throw rooster tails just to change it up and you'll catch more variety but not as many.

My cousin has moved to Miami to finish out his residency for med school and has fallen in love with catching Oscar, Snook and Peacock Bass. Where do you live?
I'm in SC, but you can walk up to any canal in Miami behind any house or neighborhood and catch Oscars, and usually several other species.
I had one by itself in an aquarium for a long time. I would walk into the room the aquarium was in and he would start going crazy anticipating a feeding. I could put crickets, earthworms, moths, anything in there and he would destroy it and cause major waves in the aquarium while doing so. He looked like a big ole bream in there. Couldn't put any other fish in there smaller than he was because he would kill them in no time.

No, horshack speaks the truth. I love Popeyes but never eat there cause it takes 20 minutes to order and another 30 to get your food.
How have I made it this far in life without seeing this before? This is awesome.
